Match #1: Emma vs
Sasha Banks w/Charlotte
The match didn't last long, only four minutes.
Emma made
Banks tap out to the Emma Lock.
Winner: Emma via Submission.
Big E's Match Rating:: 1/5
Big E's Match Viewpoint:
Wasn't too crazy about this about this match. I didn't like that it was short. I want to see more of
Emma, she's very talented in the ring and is a future star and future
WWE Divas Champion.
Match #2: The Ascension (Victor & Konnor, NXT Tag Team Champions vs
Jack & John:
Another short match that saw the tag champions dominate the match. The match was over in under two minutes.
Winner: The Ascension via Pin.
Big E's Match Rating: NR
Big E's Match Viewpoint:
It was just another squash match for the champions. When are these guys going to have some real competition!? What a waste of time. That's why I gave a NR for this match.
Match #3: Xavier Woods vs
Brodus Clay:
The match lasted about three minutes long.
Clay powered his way to a victory in his return to
NXT. He power-bombed
Woods and then hit a top rope splash for the win.
Winner: Brodus Clay via Pin.
Big E's Match Rating NR
Big E's Match Viewpoint:
Another squash match. I understand it was about putting
Clay over as a monster heel and that he's next in line for the
NXT Championship.
Clay did a promo after the match stating he's coming after
Adrian Neville's championship.
Adrian Neville did a backstage interview and sent a message to
Clay saying he needs to earn a title shot.
Match #4 Tyler Breeze vs
Yoshi Tatsu:
This match didn't last long either as it took only about two minutes.
Breeze hit his finisher the Beauty shot on
Tatsu for the win.
Winner: Tyler Breeze via Pin.
Big E's Match Rating: NR
Big E's Match Viewpoint:
Nothing to say that I haven't said already. It was another squash match.
Main Event, Match #5: Corey Graves vs
Sami Zayn:
Graves was in control for the majority of the match, as
Zayn was really selling his concussion.
Graves attacked around the head and the head of
Zayn throughout the match. The referee had to stopped the match after
Graves had locked in his finisher Lucky 13 and
Zayn was non-responsive to the referee. Throughout the match
Zayn was stumbling around the ring and he looked dazed at times really selling the concussion he had few weeks back.
Winner: Corey Graves via Referee Stoppage.
Big E's Match Rating: 2/5
Big E's Match Viewpoint:
It wasn't a great match but it wasn't bad either. Is it worth watching again no. It mainly was to put
Graves over and to have
Zayn sell the concussion he had. I expect
Zayn to ask for a rematch and for this rival/feud to continue in the coming weeks. It's good that
Graves got the win this time even though it was by referee stopping it. I actually like this feud as I'm a fan of both guys, both are very talented in the ring and I expect both guys to be up on the main roster very soon.
Big E's Final Thoughts:
It was a very disappointing show with not much action three of the five matches were a squash match. I don't like short matches. I understand the reason for all the short matches it's to put over the main young guys to get them over with the fans, so when they come up fans know who they are. If that's the case maybe they should go to an hour and half that way you can have more longer match rather then one or two (mainly one) a week, have three long matches that last more then 10 minutes and then two or three "squash matches."
Also, judging my the promos by
Brodus Clay a and
Adrian Neville that there possible building up a feud between the two for the
NXT Championship.
Lastly, I've notice superstars/wrestlers like
Xavier Woods and
Yoshi Tatsu are the jobbers of
NXT every time they wrestle they lose the match in under five minutes. I can't remember the last time either guy had a more then five minute match or even won a match.
Big E's Match of the Night: Corey Graves vs
Sami Zayn.
Big E's NXT Rating: 4.25/5
The
Graves/Zayn Good solid match that told a good story in the ring.
