WrestlingTimesX - Rest in Peace, Warrior… You will run forever!

It is with grave sorrow that we--the Ultimate fans--bid farewell to The Ultimate Warrior.

When seeing the headline on social media that The Ultimate Warrior had passed, I couldn't fathom it. The 54 year-old Warrior had just been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this past weekend. He even made a special appearance on Monday Night RAW and spoke to the WWE Universe. Then WWE.com and Triple H confirmed the reality that the world had just lost a legend and icon of the squared circle.

We are all shocked from his sudden passing, especially since Warrior announced that he had accepted a multi-year contract from the WWE to be its ambassador. So while Warrior made a career "acting like a tough guy", and the days of gorilla presses and rope shaking were long behind him, he still had so much to look forward to.

Prior to appearing on the premiere TV Spot for WWE 2k14, it had been nearly 17 years since the last time Ultimate Warrior was in the WWE.

That's a long time to be away from something you love so much, but sometimes the wounds are deep. It didn't help matters when WWE Home Video released a DVD entitled "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior". Warrior felt offended and hurt that WWE, a company he gave his time and intensity to, would attempt to destroy the fond memories that we forged as kids.

But that didn't stop Warrior from living his life. He legally changed his name to Warrior, which for many years I thought was insane, but come to find out he simply believed in the Warrior spirit. And after listening to his inspiring speech at the Hall of Fame--did I mention he was a motivational speaker?--who am I to argue with a man offering so much encouragement and wisdom?

Let's face it, there was no greater Ultimate Warrior fan than Warrior himself. He portrayed the character with intensity and raw emotion. He pushed his body to its limits and still kept going long after he had blown up in the ring. He lived out his creativity and imagination portraying a tough warrior battling the forces of evil. The responsibility of being a warrior, of being a tough guy helped prepare Warrior with the tools to tackle life in the real world.

I still can't believe that Warrior is gone. There was just so much life in him. But at least Warrior lived long enough to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and to speak to his legion of Ultimate fans one last time. Oh, and about the "DVD" issue, WWE finally made it right:

We all have fond memories of The Ultimate Warrior that can never be forgotten: his epic clash with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI, his encounters with "Macho Man" Randy Savage, his face paint, his mannerisms, his promos, and always running down the ramp and around the ring at 110 mph!

Rest in Peace, Warrior.. you will run forever in our hearts and in the afterlife throughout parts unknown.
