Banning Testosterone-Replacement Therapy In The UFC, Good Or Bad?

The UFC Is moving toward testosterone-replacement therapy being banned from the sport. Some fighters feel it gives competitors an unfair advantage, while some older fighters feel they need it to continue to compete.

One of the sport’s biggest superstars, Chael Sonnen, has admitted without the ability to gain a therapeutic-use exemption for the use of testosterone, he may no longer be able to compete in the sport. Vitor Belfort had to withdraw from a planned bout with UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman. Surely they can’t believe the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s decision to ban the practice was wise.

And Dr. John Pierce, a Las Vegas-based anti-aging doctor, believes the ban – which UFC officials subsequently agreed to enforce in international jurisdictions where they act as commission – could force fighters into seeking underground alternatives.

MMA Junkie posted a video interview with multiple fighters where they give their take on the situation. You can view the video here
