Reaction Zone - Hopefully, it won't last 2-4 years

20 years ago, World Championship Wrestling introduced the New World Order (nWo), which merely became quite the cash cow, as veterans Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, & Hulk Hogan, along with mastermind Eric Bischoff, made it hip to cheer for anarchy. WWE, of course, copied with DeGeneration-X and a certain Texas Rattlesnake that Bischoff had given up on a wee bit prematurely. We all know how that story ended.

In the present, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling have decided to honor the anniversary by having arguably the most successful nWo clone of all time, the Bullet Club, begin a gradual takeover of the former promotion. At Global Wars, former ROH champ Adam Cole was the surprise new recruit into the Bullet Club, and staked a fresh claim to the ROH title, currently held by Jay Lethal. Lethal and challenger Colt Cabana were both wiped out, along with just about anyone that moved in the wrong direction. The carnage will eventually be shown on TV, but the whole idea was to fully turn the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, who've been tweeners here in the US, heel.

The Bucks and the Guerrillas of Destiny give the Bullet Club two chances to claim the ROH tag titles. Omega conceivably could throw his hat in the ring for the ROH TV title, now held by Bobby Fish. The worst thing that could happen, considering that Lethal already has an alliance with IWGP champ Naito (Los Inglobernales), is the Bullet Club taking control of all of the ROH gold, then hold them hostage due to commitments to NJPW.

Of course, with AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke "Doc" Gallows, & Finn Balor all under the WWE umbrella, ROH's message to WWE is simply that they're ready to compete with WWE, and, in truth, have been for some time. Vince McMahon won't acknowledge them as a competitor, but, once and for all, he should. The complacency of the last 15 years, starting with the intentionally misbooked Invasion angle, is finally coming back to bite Vince on that well known, wrinkled backside. His ignorance will be his downfall.

Your move, Vince.
