Emanuel Newton appeared to be losing the Bellator light heavyweight title Friday night. Out of nowhere, Newton landed a spinning back fist, scoring a knockout of Joey Beltran in the main event of Bellator 124.
Newton, who unified the titles earlier this year with a win over Atila Vegh, had trouble with Beltran in the first two rounds. The former UFC fighter used his size to pick Newton apart, almost finishing him at one point.
In the co-main event, Liam McGeary earned the light heavyweight tournament title with a first round submission of Kelly Anundson. The unbeaten fighter locked up an inverted triangle. Check out all the results below:
