With Aztec Warfare III a week away, the focus in the opening video is on two of the three matches on the card.

1. Believers' Backlash match: Famous B (w/Brenda) vs. Mascarita Sagrada.

I'm reminded of some old school ECW from the 90's, where fans supplied weapons on their own volition to the competitors. Such is the case here. Brenda got more involved than usual, and couldn't pass up any chance to mug for the camera. Of course she'd get what she deserved for interfering, in the form of a pie in the face late in the match. Famous couldn't maintain any advantage without taking shortcuts. Then again, before his current gimmick corrupted him, he was a jobber who couldn't win a match. Current client Dr. Wagner, Jr. came down to interfere, so of course Son of Havoc came out to even the sides, and dragged Wagner to the back. Sagrada pulled out the old Al Snow bowling ball to the 'nads bit, which Matt Striker surprisingly didn't pick up on. Brenda took an oversize pair of shears from Melissa Santos and cut Famous' tie to save him from being choked out. Meh. Sagrada hit a sick looking tornado DDT to end it.

Winner: Mascarita Sagrada.

Post-match, SOH came back out and patched in his little buddy. Sons of the Open Road, you know?

Drago is warming up for Aztec Warfare when Kobra Moon shows up. We find that Daga was killed off, which is why he hasn't returned, and Lord Pinder, whomever he is, may be on his way.....! Meanwhile, Killshot and Dante Fox have a meeting, and all seems well.....for the moment.

2. Killshot, Dante Fox, Cage, Texano, & Argenis vs. Marty Martinez, Mariposa, The Mack, Ivelisse, & Jeremiah Crane.

Crane & Fox are making their official in-ring debuts. Winners advance to Aztec Warfare. Variation on the Improbable Partners concept in Mexico, and here, dysfunction is the order of the day. The girls don't get along unsurprisingly, since they're feuding. Ivey hurts her ankle, again, and sits on the floor for the rest of the match. Inexplicably, perhaps predictably, Fox turns on Killshot again with a fisherman buster, leaving him for Martinez to pick up the pieces.

Winners: Marty Martinez, Mariposa, The Mack, Ivelisse, & Jeremiah Crane.

Matanza speaks! Dario Cueto peps him up for next week's mega title defense, and all the monster can muster is, "War!". Well, the evolution of Kane started the same way.......

3. Grave Consequences: Mil Muertes (w/Catrina) vs. Prince Puma.

Needless to say, the winner moves on to Aztec Warfare, while the other? Well.......! Puma takes it to the big man early and often. Catrina does exactly nothing. This is the 3rd Grave Consequences match, all involving Muertes. Remember, he lost the last one to Matanza, and we saw Catrina do her vanishing act when she escaped the coffin. Anyway, you had to figure tables would come into play, and they do. Muertes hit the Reaper's Trident on Puma through one that was stacked in the corner. Puma ate wood a 2nd time after a turnaround chokeslam. After this, Muertes collected his prey, and stuffed him in the very same casket used in Konnan's last appearance in season 1.

Winner: Mil Muertes.
