Detailed Results
We open with Jay Briscoe cutting a promo on the Kingdom setting up the main event.

1. Cedric Alexander vs. Frankie Kazarian (w/Christopher Daniels).

Daniels joins Kevin Kelly & Steve Corino at the desk, and cracks that appletinis were banned at the broadcast table in Nashville by Jerry Jarrett back in the 70's. Cute, trite, but not funny. Very even opener, back & forth all the way. Kazarian ended up winning by hitting what Daniels called "Ride the Lightning" (Killswitch).

Winner: Frankie Kazarian.

2. Top Prospect tournament, 1st round: Donovan Dijak vs. Jake Dirden.

Dirden looks like a cross between Bruiser Brody and Luke Harper, with Terry Gordy's old Asiatic Spike finisher. Dijak passed through my neck of the woods in October with Dynasty Pro as a heel and looked impressive. Worked more of a face style here, largely because he had to. Caprice Coleman is on commentary with Kevin & Steve for this one, and talked up Dijak as a 2-sport star in college who was recruited by the Secret Service. They could use him now. Dirden kept teasing the spike, but never got to use it. Hit a chokeslam for 2, but took forever to try applying the spike, and that cost him. Dijak countered, and hit "Feast For Your Eyes", a combination of a burning hammer and the GTS. Dijak moves on.

Winner: Donovan Dijak.

Matt Taven will represent the Kingdom in the main event. Expect shenanigans.

Kevin is in the ring to interview Alberto El Patron (formerly Alberto Del Rio in WWE). Since this show was taped, El Patron has signed with Lucha Underground as well, so we'll see him on Wednesday nights real soon. El Patron put over ROH as having the best competition, and he will face Daniels next week. Jay Lethal & Truth Martini came out and claimed again that the TV title is more important than the World title. Total BS, and you can thank Martini for that. Looks like Lethal vs. El Patron for the TV title down the line.

3. ROH title: Jay Briscoe vs. Matt Taven (w/Michael Bennett & Maria Kanellis).

Briscoe wants his personalized belt back, which Adam Cole & Matt Hardy stole from him and revamped it for Maria. With rumors that the Bennetts may be leaving soon, expect something to happen in short order. The former TV champ had his moments, but was made to look weak relying too much on the Bennetts' interference. Todd Sinclair should've tossed them at the jump to prevent any nonsense. Taven went up top, but Briscoe blocked and hit the Jay Driller. Ballgame.

Winner: Jay Briscoe.

Bennett hit Briscoe with the "title of love" after the match, and Maria taunted Briscoe, claiming it's hers, because it was given to her. Get real, babe. Mark Briscoe came out and cleared out the garbage, then issued a challenge for next week, which was accepted.

Next week:

Top Prospect tournament continues.
El Patron vs. Daniels.
Briscoes vs. Kingdom.
