Detailed Results
1. Decade of Excellence tournament, 1st round: B. J. Whitmer (w/Kevin Sullivan & Damian Martinez) vs. Jay Briscoe.

Whitmer gets the jobber entrance, something reserved for the rent-a-jobber squashes in ROH. The idea here is that Whitmer absorbs so much pain that he takes delight in it. Kinda like Raven 20 years ago. After a Death Valley Driver, Sullivan gives Whitmer the golden spike. Mark Briscoe comes down and hits a suicide dive on Martinez to set up a future match. Whitmer ends up eating a Jay Driller, and that is it.

Winner: Jay Briscoe.

Post-match, Whitmer cuts a promo promising a sacrifice for next week. So last century.

2. Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser vs. Alex Reynolds & Jon Silver.

Not the squash you'd think it'd be. Reynolds & Silver got their offense in early and often before the Milwaukee Maulers took over. Butt splash & Banzai drop by Bruiser, sandwiched around a double foot stomp by Young, and Young pins Silver.

Winners: Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser.

Post-match, Young talks about adding a 3rd man for a run at the 6-man titles. Bull James (formerly Bull Dempsey in NXT) is brought down, but then Young turns on him, and James is quickly beaten down, ending with a frogsplash from the Bruiser.

3. Non-title: The New Kingdom vs. Cheeseburger, Joey Daddiego, & Will Ferrara.

Nice to see Daddiego back in the ring competing, and as a babyface. Vinnie Marseglia got a cheap shot in rather than adhere to the Code of Honor, and the 6-man champs wanted to end it early, but Super Nova (triple powerbomb) was blocked. Cheeseburger hit the palm strike on Taven, but didn't follow up, and paid for it. Shoulder breaker from TK O'Ryan. Marseglia took his turn dropping 'Burger. Taven with his version of the frogsplash (Air Taven) to end it.

Winners: The Kingdom.

The Young Bucks are out to address "Broken" Matt Hardy's comments at Final Battle. The tag champs just signed a new 2-year deal, and Matt Jackson is so excited, he's nearly lost his voice. A drone comes out, meant to represent Vanguard-1, and eats a superkick.

4. Decade of Excellence tournament: Chris Sabin (w/Alex Shelley) vs. Colt Cabana.

Shelley joins Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness on commentary. Fairly even for the most part, although Cabana does take a shortcut using ref Todd Sinclair as a human shield. Late in the match, the Boys come down to distract Cabana, setting up Sabin for a tornado cradle and what amounts to an upset.

Winner: Chris Sabin.

The final 1st round match in the tournament--Jay Lethal vs. Jushin Liger---is next week.
