Detailed Results
1. D-Line (Body Snatcher & Black Ice) vs. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin.

D-Line are a couple of trainees getting their first look. For some reason, this isn't billed as a Proving Ground match. That label's been saved for the main event. More on that when we get there.

This was not quite the squash you'd think it was. Black Ice was in most of the way, and showed plenty of fire. However, inevitably, he had to tag out, and Body Snatcher, the taller of the two, showed his inexperience. He went for a chokeslam on Haas, but Benjamin with a low dropkick from behind, leaving Snatcher open for the Haas of Pain. Winners: Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin.

2. Orphelian & Los Ice Creams vs. Red, Green, & Soldier Ants.

CHIKARA Pro showcase match. We saw Red Ant a while back in a losing effort vs. TJ Perkins. Paging air traffic control. Not since Atom Ant flew across TV screens in the 60's have we seen flying ants. I'm serious. Some of the triple team moves the Ants use look like they have their roots in the circus. CHIKARA might have gotten these guys away from Barnum & Bailey, for all we know. Los Ice Creams didn't show me anything. Orphelian was left all alone, and Green Ant was dropped on top for the pin. Winners: Red, Green, & Soldier Ants.

3. Jay Lethal vs. Ricky Reyes.

Reyes is a ROH veteran appearing on TV for the first time. Best match on the show. It took Lethal a while to get the offense going, and when he did, it was just a matter of time before it was over. Reyes looked sharp, too. He'd been hit with a handspring elbow earlier, so you'd think that after the Lethal Combination, he'd be ready for the Lethal Injection, which starts with the handspring. Oh, no. Lethal knew what he was doing. Adios. Winner: Jay Lethal.

Inside ROH previews next week's show, which promises highlights from tonight's Border Wars IPPV, plus Mike Bennett vs. Eddie Edwards and the All Night Express vs. the Young Bucks.

4. Non-title: Davey Richards vs. Rhino (w/Truth Martini & Roderick Strong).

No reason for the TV champ to be out, and Richards has no backup, but should. Bad move by the booking team, at least in this case. As the last ECW champ, Rhino doesn't need a proving ground match. He's a well traveled veteran with time in WWE & TNA on his resume. In commentary, they teased discord in the House of Truth. Nice. Rhino borrowed a page from Strong and applied a Boston Crab, which Richards countered into an anklelock. Rhino forced a rope break. Richards back to the anklelock. Rhino escapes. He has Richards lined up for the gore, but the champ vaults over him for a sunset flip, and gets the 3. Winner: Davey Richards.

Post-match, Strong ambushes Richards, and it's a 3-on-1. Other refs come out, but Martini, as if he is a real threat, holds them at bay. Please. Lethal returns to help Richards clear the ring and end the show.
