Detailed Results
We are live tonight in Bakersfield. Ring announcer Jamie Keyes introduces the remaining "rookies", and Matt Striker has them doing another set of 1:00 promos. The best ones were saved for last, starting with Michael McGillicutty, who has turned heel for some reason. Kaval does a partial rap that had me rolling, including a reference to his previous gig in TNA, and makes a Freudian slip, calling McGillicutty by his real name, Joe (Hennig). Husky Harris reveals that his boots came from his uncle, Barry Windham. With Mark Henry and presumably Miz on their way to Hawaii, and then Japan, there isn't a pros poll---yet. Instead, they go to the random computer selection, a la the draft, and Percy Watson is the first one eliminated.

1. Michael McGillicutty (w/Kofi Kingston) vs. Zack Ryder.

Zack is starving for opportunities to shine on Raw, as he otherwise is confined to Superstars. By claiming Zack is the greatest superstar to come out of Long Island, Striker aside, they're getting in a cheap shot on LI's most famous wrestler, Mick Foley. I digress. McGillicutty appears to have hit the wall since losing to Miz 2 weeks ago, and while he gives it his all, Zack is one step ahead of him. Ryder hits a hot shot on the top rope from the outside, then scores with the Ruff Ryder. Yeah, Zack finally wins one. Winner: Zack Ryder.

Michael & Josh talk about the Kane-Rey Mysterio match at Summerslam, and the resulting return of the Undertaker. On Friday's Smackdown, Kane will explain his actions from 3 months ago.

Team LayCool are pumping up Kaval for his rematch with Husky Harris, coming up next. Michelle McCool asks Layla if she's actually smitten with Kaval, referencing their kiss 2 weeks ago. Seems like love may be what splits up these drama queens. Harris comes along and propositions Michelle (who happens to be Mrs. Undertaker in real life). He's pinned Kaval 3 times in as many weeks, the last coming 8 days ago on Raw.

2. Husky Haris (w/Cody Rhodes) vs. Kaval (w/LayCool).

Harris won the last two singles meetings vs. Kaval on NXT, and has momentum on his side. Creative insists on humiliating Kaval week after week, just like Daniel Bryan in season 1.

At first, it looks like Harris is going to roll again, but a rolling heel kick by Kaval turns the tide. A botched uranage gets 2, but when Harris tries again, Kaval turns it into a DDT, and follows up with the Warrior's Way. Winner: Kaval.

3. Alex Riley vs. Kofi Kingston (w/Michael McGillicutty).

Kofi is also looking to get back on the winning track after being cheated out of the Intercontinental title on Smackdown a couple of weeks back. Riley looks good early, but one mistake, as with Harris in the last match, proves costly. Riley goes to the turnbuckles, but Kingston is waiting for him with a double boot to the head. Kofi makes his comeback with the Boom Drop and Trouble in Paradise. School may be out for Riley! Winner: Kofi Kingston.

After replaying a video from Summerslam Fan Axxess that debuted on Raw, plus a Raw Rebound, Josh & Michael join Matt in the ring. Both say Alex Riley should win, and Kaval should be the next to go. Funny how suddenly Josh has sided with the anti-internet Cole....

However, it is Harris who is eliminated. Husky's upset, understandably, but no one's more shocked than Cody Rhodes, who cuts a nasty promo on everyone. He rips on Alex Riley, calling him awful, but then he & Harris launch a 2-on-1 attack on---who else---Kaval. MVP & Kofi leave the stage to make the save, and now it's 3-on-2. Actually, 4-on-2, as Zack Ryder also left the stage, as Rhodes ripped on him, too. Harris had tried to get a word in, but it was Cody's show here. It ends poorly for Harris, as Kaval comes off the top with a double axe handle. Confronted by MVP & Kingston, Harris walks away, joining Cody in walking up the ramp to end the show. Expect Rhodes to face either Kaval or Kingston or MVP next week.
