Who will win at No Mercy?
"That's My Story And I'm Sticking To It" Written by: Dr. Wrestling on 10/04/2007

This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you who I think the winners will be at No Mercy.

Before I discuss the PPV I'm going to take a minute to mention John Cena's injury during a match with Mr. Kennedy on Raw and how it could effect not only Raw but the entire WWE. Obviously the WWE champion being injured is a major shot to the WWE but it could effect not just the current state of Raw but the next few months of Raw. Some want to see Cena win and some want to see Cena lose but no matter if you want to see Cena win or lose, Cena draws a crowd and that's what a champion should do for a company. That being said, as I've said in a previous column Cena has proved in the past year that he is a legitimate champion and it would be tough to argue that Cena hasn't proved himself as a legitimate champion. Cena's matches with Umaga were atleast okay, his matches with Shawn Micheals were probably the best seen in a WWE ring this year, and Cena had good matches with Randy Orton so it would be tough for someone to say Cena wasn't a credible champion. Now let's get to some predictions for the PPV.

The Women's title should atleast be an okay match and I think Beth Phoenix will win the title. I've predicted Phoenix to win the title at Unforgiven and Candice Michelle retained but now that Phoenix has chased the title for a few months, while still getting a push she will win the title at No Mercy. As I've mentioned before I think a Phoenix/Mickie James feud for the title could be a good feud because both wrestlers have alot of wrestling ability.

The Finlay/Rey Mysterio match could be a good match but I don't expect the match to be a classic match. The reason I say this is because the match is more of just a throw together match to take up time on the PPV and there's really not much of a build up to the match. I'll pick Rey to win the match and I'd expect him to continue to be pushed as a top star on Smackdown.

If you watched the ECW T.V. show this past week you know that for about five minutes it seemed like Tommy Dreamer would be challenging for the ECW title but that wasn't the case. I was surprised that Tommy won the match and even though I knew Tommy probably wouldn't win the title, I thought it would be cool to see a Dreamer v.s. Punk match. It could have had a good story for the match with a champion of the original ECW v.s. the champion of the new ECW but Viscera, now known as Big V pinned Dreamer to get a shot at the ECW title. Dreamer v.s. Punk was a match I was looking forward to seeing but I can't say the same about Punk v.s. Big V. It will probably be a terrible match but that's not because of Punk, it's more because Big V doesn't do much in the ring. I'll pick Punk to retain the title and it's possible there could be a Dreamer/Punk title match in the future. Speaking of Dreamer, he has a really cool article on wwe.com that's definitely worth a read and it shows that Dreamer wrestles for the fans. I know that Dreamer probably won't win the title in the new ECW but he deserves to be the champion. I have alot of respect for Tommy Dreamer and hopefully he remains a top star in the new ECW because even though the new ECW is a really weak brand, it's always cool to watch a Tommy Dreamer match. Tommy might not have main evented Wrestlemania but he gives 100% every time he gets in the ring and that's something you have to respect because he wrestles for the fans.

The Triple H/Umaga match should be a good match but it's obvious that Triple H is going to win the match and the WWE will continue to push him to the main event picture of Raw. It will be interesting to see if Triple H will be involved in the WWE title picture since John Cena is injured and since Cena has been pushed as the top "good guy" on Raw the WWE might have Triple H feud with Orton for the WWE title.

The WWE tag team title match should be a good match and it will be interesting to see who are the tag champions after the PPV. I'll pick The Undertaker and Kane to win the titles because it seem like the MVP/Matt Hardy tag team title reign has added to the U.S. title feud as much as it can and now Hardy will challenge for the U.S. title. If The Undertaker and Kane win the tag titles it will be cool to see them reform the tag team but you would think the WWE would atleast have The Undertaker be involved in the main event title picture on Smackdown. As I said before, I think Kane should be involved in the title picture but if The Undertaker and Kane win the tag titles it seems like they will be wrestling in the tag division on Smackdown.

The Punjabi Prison will probably a terrible match and even though it's not really supposed to be it will probably be a comedy match. I mean can you really take a fake bamboo prison match seriously? If you've read some of my other columns I'm sure you know that I think Batista and The Great Khali are terrible. I guess Batista is a better champion then Khali because atleast Batista can be carried to a good match but I don't think I've seen a good Khali match. To be honest with you, I could careless who wins this match but I'll pick Batista to retain the title.

It hasn't been announced who will be wrestling for the WWE title so it's tough to predict a winner for a match that isn't announced but I would guess that Orton will be involved in the match. Since there's not a prediction for the match I will just say it would be cool if Mr. Kennedy...Kennedy won the WWE title.

Overall I think No Mercy will be a good PPV.

Until next week
