This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you what I think of TNA's current booking and storylines.
I know Vince Russo has been getting alot of heat lately from fans and it seems like just recently he may deserve it because some of the current storylines just don't make sense. The storylines are defiantly more interesting then there were a few months ago but you have to question the logic of some of the current storylines. I know it's pro wrestling and things don't always have to make sense but if TNA wants to continue to build an audience there should be some logic in the storylines. It seems like TNA should filter some of Russo's ideas so that the show makes sense. In case you're wondering this is NOT a "fire Russo" column because I think with Russo on the TNA creative team TNA has become more interesting but it could defiantly improve.
The Abyss/Sting storyline is defiantly lacking logic and after watching Impact the storyline seems some what ridiculous. The beginning of the storyline was one of the better storylines TNA has had in recent months with it involving Abyss' past and even the matches after Abyss's past was revealed were good matches. The "Last Rights" matches is where things start to not make sense and why is Abyss suddenly a team with Sting after months of feuding with him? Is it because Abyss "seen the light"? Anybody noticing the lack of logic here? I think Abyss should have had a longer run as champion and I think Abyss deserves another title run. Abyss is a good wrestler and he can have good matches with anyone. It will be interesting to see what direction the storyline goes in the next few weeks and if Abyss will be a "good guy" character.
The VKM storyline is also another one that hasn't made sense recently and are VKM supposed to be heel? VKM started as a war against the WWE and that seemly went no where and now it's VKM v.s. Christy Hemme. What's the point? TNA brought in the Heart Throbs to wrestle VKM at Destination X and they accomplished nothing in the WWE. What was the point of even having The Heart Throbs appear at the PPV? Is it supposed to be VKM v.s. former WWE tag teams? VKM haven't accomplished that much in TNA and they probably should have had a run as NWA tag team champions.
The LAX/Team 3D storyline is another storyline that doesn't make sense and how many times is Team 3D going to lose? It seems like there's no reason for the feud to continue at this point because LAX defeated Team 3D at the PPV. Team 3D has been in TNA for a year and a half and what have they done? They haven't won the tag titles and the only good feud they have been involved in is the feud with LAX. LAX is a good tag team and Konnan's mic skills have really added alot to the feud. If you have read the Impact results for the next few weeks you know it's been reported that it will be LAX v.s. Team 3D at Lockdown in an electrified cage match but why is it an electrified cage match? This is an example of how TNA has been having too many gimmick matches the past few months and it will be interesting to see how there will be an electrified cage match at Lockdown.
Overall I think TNA has improved the storylines on Impact but it seems like there have been too many gimmick matches and some one needs to filter Russo's ideas so that the storylines make sense on Impact.
Until next week
