Who will win at Judgment Day?
"That's My Story And I'm Sticking To It" Written by: Dr. Wrestling on 5/17/2007

This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you who I think the winners will be at Judgment Day.

Before I discuss the matches I think it's some what important to mention that while most of the title matches at the PPV are ridiculous the rest of the mid card matches have the potential to make this atleast an okay PPV. Now, let's get to some predictions for the PPV.

The question for the Carlito/Ric Flair match isn't who is going to win but why wasn't this match at Wrestlemania? I expect to this to be a great match and it could possibly be the best match at the PPV. The feud has the potential to be one of the better feuds on Raw in the past few months and it could make Carlito a star. At one point Carlito was in the hunt for the IC title but then it seemed like the creative team didn't have Carlito involved in many feuds. I think the feud with Flair could get Carlito back on track to being one of the top stars on Raw and the feud could definitely help give Carlito a push. I'll pick Flair to win because even though the feud could help push Carlito I think the feud will continue if Flair wins at the PPV.

HBK/Randy Orton could be a good match and with the feud just getting started on Raw this past week I think the feud will probably continue after the PPV. HBK has taken more of a role on Raw the past few months since Triple H was injured and with Edge heading to Smackdown it seems like HBK will continue his role on Raw. I'll pick Orton to win the match and probably eventually the feud. The reason I say this is that the WWE is in need of some legitimate star power and since there's already been an HBK/Cena feud it seems like HBK will put Orton over in the feud to push him for a feud with Cena for the title. I wouldn't mind seeing another HBK/Cena PPV match but it probably won't happen. If Orton does get a push to a title feud I have to say I don't think he deserves a main event sport but at this point the WWE is seriously lacking good heels on Raw so it's possible Orton could get a main event push. As I've said before if Orton can't be professional back stage then he doesn't deserve a push and he doesn't deserve to be a star.

The CM Punk/Elijah Burke match should be a good match and it's an example of some of the young talent that have a bright future in the WWE. If you watched the ECW T.V. show this past week you know that CM Punk improved his record of matches against Steven Richards to 5-0 and let's be honest here as cool as the BWO was a win over Steven Richards isn't exactly a major victory. I'll pick CM Punk to win the match and as I mentioned before I think the WWE could have done alot more with the CM Punk heel turn but they didn't let the feud develop into a storyline that could help ECW.

I predicted that MVP would win the title the past few PPVs and Beniot retained the title on both occasions but for the U.S. title match I will again (hopefully finally correctly) pick MVP to win the U.S. title. The only thing to really say about this match is that it's getting some what stale to see Beniot v.s. MVP week after week but the logic could be that the extended feud could be used to help improve MVP's matches. I've mentioned before that when MVP debuted on Smackdown I don't think much of his in ring ability but as I've said the feud with Beniot has really improved MVP's matches.

I'm not even going to really discussion the ECW title match and what else is there to say about the storyline that hasn't already been said? It's just ridiculous and that's enough said about the match.

I don't expect the World Heavy Weight title match to be a thirty minute classic but you can't really expect much when Batista is in the ring. I mentioned in this column last week that when I attended Smackdown that the crowd would boo when Batista got any offense during the match and the crowd erupted when Edge went to the ring so considering those things I think it's obvious that Edge is retaining the title. The feud hasn't been built much since Edge just won the title last week which means chances are the feud will continue after the PPV but let's been honest here who wants to see Batista main event another PPV? With Smackdown lacking star power it seems like the WWE doesn't have much of a choice but to continue the Bastista/Edge feud after the PPV. Edge could be solid champion if given the chance and his best chance to get a legitimate run as champion is on Smackdown.

The WWE title match is a match that really makes you wonder what the WWE creative team was thinking when they booked the main event for Judgment Day. You know usually I try not to make this column be a rant but in this case this might be considered a rant. I mean come on here, WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? The Great Khali challenging for the WWE title? The Great Khali in the main event of a $40 PPV? Does the WWE honestly expect someone to pay $40 to see The Great Khali main event a PPV? Oh wait I know...it was Khali's great promo skills this past week on Raw right? That's what sells tickets and pay per views. Considering Khali has no wrestling ability it seems like the main event at Judgment Day will be a match with a bunch of punches and kicks because I doubt you will see any head locks from Khali. I'll pick Cena to retain the title and the main event will probably be a terrible match.

Overall Judgment Day might be an okay PPV but I don't think any PPV that has The Great Khali in the main event is worth the $40 it cost to watch the PPV.

Until next week
