Who will win at Victory Road?

This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you who I think the winners will be at Victory Road. Before I discuss who I think will win at this PPV, it's interesting to note that as of now, there are several wrestlers that don't have a match on the card. It seems like TNA has put the brakes on Jay Lethal's push because he only had the X Division title for a week and he hasn't been seen on Impact since. This is just another example of TNA's less then great booking. Jay Lethal is a young star, who had a gimmick that was getting over with the crowd and TNA sacrificed establishing a young star to set up a "match of champions" for the PPV. There's not much logic there because TNA had Samoa Joe win the X Division title to get a spot in the main event but TNA also sacrificed Lethals push for a match at a PPV. Samoa Joe has been X Division champion and he's done really all he can with the title. I don't think Joe winning the title will give him a push or help the X Division. The match of champions is an interesting concept but I don't think a few more PPV buys is worth sacrificing Jay Lethal's push or the credibility of the X Division. Chris Sabin is another X Division star that doesn't have a match at the PPV and he hasn't been seen on Impact in a few weeks. Sabin has alot of skill but he's done basically everything that there is to do in the X Division and I don't think he has the charisma to be a star outside of the X Division. It seemed like Sabin and Alex Shelly might form a tag team and that's really all that Sabin can do in TNA at this point. Even the former tag champions LAX don't have a match as of yet at the PPV and it's possible they could be put in a throw together match at the last minute but it won't help establish LAX if they aren't wrestling in a featured match at the PPV. Let's get to some predictions for the PPV. The Eric Young and Gail Kim v.s. Bobby Rhoode and Traci Brooks match might be an okay match but I think the Young/Rhoode feud has gone on for too long. Slammiversry was probably when TNA should have concluded the feud and there's really no reason for the feud to continue. Eric Young won the match for a contract so what's there left for the feud to continue? Rhoode has been getting a steady push in TNA the past few months and he's certainly made alot of progress from being just another member of Team Canada but if TNA doesn't have Rhoode involved with feuds that will move him up the card I don't think Rhoode can become that future main event er that TNA might be trying to establish. Eric Young has shown really all that he can do in TNA and that's to be a comedy wrestler and he's effective at it but Rhoode should probably be feuding with a more established wrestler such as Sting or maybe even Daniels if TNA wants Rhoode to become a future main eventer. It's being advertised that the Ultimate X will return to PPV and only Kaz has been announced to be involved in the match at this point. Since Kaz is the only wrestler that's been announced for the match and TNA's website doesn't have any information listed as to who will be in the match so it's tough to be a winner. I'll pick Kaz just to have a prediction for the match and there's a few things to discuss about the Ultimate X match. When the Ultimate X match debuted it was a completely new concept that hadn't been seen before but TNA quickly cheapened the effect of the match when there started to be too many Ultimate X matches. Kaz has been involved in Ultimate X matches before and it will be interesting to see what happens in this Ultimate X match but it's not the most logically thing that TNA could have done. Kaz and the rest of Serition rarely make an appearance on Impact but now they are involved in one of TNA's show case matches? It's seems like common sense to have an Ultimate X match for the X Division title but obviously TNA thinks other wise. Serition had some potential to be a good stable to help give some X Division wrestlers a character but a stable probably isn't going to get over when they only appear on Impact every few weeks. It could have been TNA's version of the Flock but it seems like just a stable that doesn't have direction and doesn't really make sense. The Christain Cage/Chris Harris match could be a good match and I'll pick Harris to win the match. The reason I pick Harris to win is that even though there's not much of a build storyline wise to this match a win could help push Harris. I seen the Slammivery PPV last month and while watching the King of the Match match you just couldn't help but notice that Harris seemed like he wasn't a main event wrestler. It could just be that the audience isn't really used to seeing Harris competing for the TNA title or that it was obvious that he wasn't going to win the match but a win over Cage could help establish Harris as a more legitimate wrestler. Cage seems to have had his time as champion, atleast for the time being because after two title reigns there's not much else for Cage to do in TNA at this point. Angle seems to be the new top heel so atleast for the moment it doesn't seem like Cage will be in the main event. The Rhino/James Storm match might be a good match but there's not really a build up to the match. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again Rhino could be a legitimate main eventer in TNA if given the chance. Rhino has all the skills needed to be a good champion but with only a two week title reign he wasn't give a chance to prove he could be a good champion. Rhino was misused in the WWE and he could be a major star in TNA but he's mostly been used to push other wrestlers. I think that's the case with this match and I'll pick Storm to win the match because Storm defeating Rhino could help give Storm a push. The Abyss/Sting v.s. A.J. Styles/Tomko match could be an okay match and it seems like A.J., Abyss, and Sting could have a more important role in the PPV. I'll pick Abyss and Sting to win the match but that's more of a guess then a solid prediction for the match. The Match of Champions could be a good match but the results of the match might not help TNA. Brother Ray X Division champion? Okay maybe Brother Ray won't be the X Division champion but it doesn't seem like any result of the match will improve TNA. If Brother Ray would win the X Division title it would make the X Division a joke and let's be honest here, we all know that Team 3D aren't going to win the TNA title. If Joe or Angle would win the tag titles, which is a more possible scenario, it would kill Team 3D's momentum and the tag division won't have as much credibility. A DQ might be the best decision for TNA but I'll pick Joe and Angle to win the match. It will be interesting to see if Joe challenges for the TNA title at the next PPV. Overall I think it might be an okay PPV but it's one of the weaker PPVs that TNA has had the past few months.
