Will Chris Jericho return to the WWE?
"That's My Story And I'm Sticking To It" Written by: Dr. Wrestling on 9/28/2007

This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you what I think of Chris Jericho possibly returning to the WWE.

This past week a promo aired on Raw and it contained the phrase "SAVE_US.222", which has stirred up the internet as to exactly what the promo could represent. Many reports are suggesting that the promo represents the return of Y2J, Chris Jericho and it might not be Jericho but just for the sake of this column let's assume that Jericho will be returning to the WWE at some point in the near future. It would definitely make sense because Jericho's book is being released soon and as far as I know it's not a WWE publication so without WWE plugging the book there wouldn't be much promotion for it. It would seem like a win/win situation at this point because Jericho would get promotion for his book and the WWE would get some much needed star power with the recent suspensions. Now don't get me wrong, the ratings won't go through the roof if Jericho shows up on Raw but I think he could definitely improve the show.

Chris Jericho has had a good career and he has to be considered one of the top stars in the sport, atleast in the past decade and the many titles he's held is evidence of that. Jericho made his name in Japan wrestling for WAR and then wrestled for ECW. ECW was where Jericho got recognition in the Untied States and he won the ECW Television title. Jericho would go on to wrestle in WCW and win the Cruiser Weight title. Jericho would debut in the WWE and continue to have success winning the Intercontinental and tag team titles. Jericho also became the Undisputed champion when he defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. In 2005 Jericho would feud with John Cena for the WWE title but would soon after take a break from wrestling to work with his band Fozzy to record another album. Since then Jericho would continue to tour with his band and write the book that was previously mentioned. It wasn't until recently that Jericho made an appearance on Larry King Live and mentioned a possible return to the ring that the rumors of Jericho returning could be in the next few months.

If Jericho does actually return sometime soon it will be interesting to see how he is involved in the current state of the WWE and what storyline the "SAVE_US.222" promo could lead to on Raw. Will Jericho be involved in the title picture on Raw? Will he feud with Cena for the WWE title? The one thing that's for sure is that at this point Jericho returning to the WWE could help the WWE. While Jericho might not be seen on the same level as The Rock or Stone Cold he still has the wrestling ability, the mic skills, and charisma to be a main event wrestler. Jericho should definitely get another run as WWE champion and a Cena/Jericho feud for the title could be a good feud.

Until next week
