Who will win at Cyber Sunday?
"That's My Story And I'm Sticking To It" Written by: Dr. Wrestling on 10/25/2007

This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you who I think the winners will be at Cyber Sunday.

Before I discuss the matches and who will be victorious, let's mention a few general things about the PPV. Something you have to wonder is, is the voting for Cyber Sunday legitimate? Do the fans really get to decide things about the matches? Does YOUR vote really count? Well, according to the WWE and even J.R. mentioned in a recent article that yes, the votes really do count but then again it could all be rigged so who knows? Anyway if you think it's legitimate go a head to WWE.com and vote because it could be a really interesting PPV. Another thing I have to mention is despite Cyber Sunday being an interesting concept that the fans get to vote on specific things for matches the WWE just had a PPV three weeks ago and I think the WWE has too many PPVs. As a result sometimes there can be a lack of build up for matches or basically the same matches at a PPV that have been seen before. That being said, as long as Vince is making money from the PPVs there probably won't be less PPVs but it has been reported on some internet sites that December To Dismember and New Year's Revolution have been canceled so maybe Vince it starting to realize there's too many PPVs. Now let's get to the matches.

Rey Mysterio/Finlay should be a solid match and I think Rey will win the match because it will help continue to push Rey as a top star on Smackdown. With The Undertaker and Batista in the main event picture of Smackdown it doesn't seem like Rey will be challenging for the title anytime soon but I think the WWE will still continue to push Rey's character on Smackdown and he will still be a featured star on Smackdown. As for Finlay, it seems like other then jobbing to Rey the WWE creative team doesn't have much of a direction for him but considering Finlay's technically skill he will probably still be appearing on Smackdown on a consist basis. The stipulations you can vote for are a Stretcher match, a No DQ match, or a Shillelagh on a Pole match. There's been some good stretcher matches in the past and a Shillelagh on a Pole match could be funny so if either one of those stipulations get the vote it could be entertaining.

It's a Boxing match, a Wrestling match, or an MMA match for Matt Hardy v.s. MVP but let's be honest here a wrestling match is a normal match so that leaves a boxing or MMA match as the possibly choices that will probably get the vote for this match. If it's a boxing match I'd expect an ending similar to the Piper v.s. Mr. T boxing match at Wrestlemania 2 but if it's an MMA fight I doubt it would be a shoot fight so it will probably end with a submission. I'll pick Matt Hardy to win the match and I think the feud will continue after the PPV. According to WWE.com this match isn't for the United States title and that probably means that the U.S. title won't be on the line until Survivor Series. That being said, I have to say that even though the MVP/Hardy feud has been a good feud it's becoming stale and has been going on for too many months so if there's U.S. title match at Survivor Series it should be the conclusion to the feud.

Will it be a Street Fight? Will it be First Blood? Will it be a Steel Cage? You can decide(Wow that sounds like a commercial)anyway it's obvious that the Steel Cage is going to get the vote and it's also obvious that Triple H is going to get the win. As has been the case since his return, Triple H will get another win to continue his push on Raw to eventually main event Wrestlemania.

The ECW title match could have some interesting voting and let's take a second to see if Dr. Wrestling can predict who will get the vote before I discuss who I think the winner will be at the PPV. The Miz will vote for himself and that's probably the only votes he will get for this match because let's be honest here, no one wants to pay $40 to watch The Miz wrestle. Viscera might get a few votes and John Morrison will probably get enough votes to wrestle for the title. That being said, if Morrison does indeed wrestle for the title it will be interesting to see if he wins the title back after his suspension. I say this because it seems like the only reason CM Punk finally won the title was because Morrison was suspended so it's possible the WWE might have Morrison win the title and they might have CM Punk chase the title again. As for a winner I'll pick CM Punk to retain the title but that's more of a guess then a solid prediction.

The World Heavy Weight title match will be The Undertaker v.s. Batista with the special guest ref being JBL, Mick Foley, or Stone Cold Steve Austin. We all know Stone Cold will get the majority vote here so it will be interesting to see if he effects the result of the match. I'll pick The Undertaker to win the title and I think it's a good decision for the Smackdown brand. As I've said since his injury I think The Undertaker deserves another title run and I think he could carry the Smackdown brand. I know I've said it on numerous occasions but Batista just isn't a legitimate main event wrestler and if you look at his past title reigns it would be hard to argue that point. I say this because Batista has always needed someone to carry him in matches and when he didn't have someone to carry him the matches were terrible. Triple H, The Undertaker, and Edge could carry Batista. As a result the matches were atleast watchable. JBL, Booker T, and The Great Khali couldn't carry Batista. The matches were less then great matches. It would be cool to see The Undertaker get a solid title reign so hopefully he will have the title for a few months and with Edge returning at Survivor Series The Undertaker/Edge feud for the title could be a good feud.

The WWE title match should be a good match and it seems like no matter who gets voted in the match it will be a good match. The WWE has been pushing Randy Orton v.s. Shawn Micheals so it's obvious HBK will probably be in the match. It would be cool to see Mr. Kennedy...Kennedy get a shot at the title so...VOTE FOR MR. KENNEDY...KENNEDY! Ha Ha As for the winner I'll pick Randy Orton to retain the title for a few different reasons. With Cena injured for what could be up to a year the WWE is pushing Orton as the top heel to wrestle against the top "good guys" such as Hardy, HHH, and HBK so if the WWE wants to have Orton be a top heel for atleast a few more months he will probably retain at the PPV because it would continue to push him as the top heel on Raw. Another reason being that besides Kennedy, Orton is really the only heel on Raw right now that could be considered a main event level heel so if Orton loses the title it would leave Raw with very few legitimate main event heels. Umaga could have been considered a top level heel at one point but now his role is basically to job to Triple H so that leaves Orton and Kennedy as the top heels on Raw.

Overall I think Cyber Sunday will be a good PPV.

Until next week
