"That's My Story And I'm Sticking To It" Written by: Dr. Wrestling on 1/22/2008

This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you what I think of some of the recent signings, debuts, and releases.

After taking extended time away from the ring and considering other career options, it's been reported that former WWE champion, The Big Show has signed a contract to return to the WWE. Although he is a former WWE champion, I have to question how effective Big Show will be in the WWE's current landscape and there's a few different reasons for that. Big Show hasn't really been seen as a top level main event star but rather someone that was given the title when a particular brand was running low on star power. Also it seems as though his size is really the main factor in why he was given a main event spot because it doesn't seem as though he is on the same level in terms of talent as other champions such as The Undertaker, John Cena, and Edge. Another reason why Big Show's return doesn't mean that much is because he doesn't exactly have a long list a great matches or really even a great title run despite being a multi time champion. As far as when Big Show actually returns it will be interesting to see what brand he wrestles for and how he will be used on the brand. he's been pushed as the unstoppable monster and there's not really another role for him but he hasn't been able to effectively establish that character. If Big Show returned to Raw it's possible he could be in a short term feud with Triple H before Wrestlemania or maybe even a feud with Shawn Micheals at some point in the future. If he went to Smackdown it could be a feud with Batista, which would probably be a train wreck or a feud with The Undertaker and that could be atleast an okay feud because The Undertaker can carry wrestlers to good matches. I don't think ECW would be an option for Big Show at this point because his title reign as ECW champion could be considered a flop at best so it seems as though he will return to Raw or Smackdown.

It's been reported that another former WWE star has resigned with the WWE and that star is also a former NWA champion as well as a former TNA tag team champion. Ron "The Truth" Killings was once known as K Kwik in WWE and had two runs as NWA champion during TNA's early years. He was also a part of the Three Live Crew, which consisted of BG James, Konnan, and Killings. Killings is solid in the ring and has some decent mic skills but I doubt he will be more then a mid carder in the WWE. The reason being is there's more depth in terms of talent on the WWE rosters then the TNA roster so it would seem as though Killings would have a better chance at success in TNA if he was given the opportunity but considering he hasn't been given much of a chance in TNA it was probably a wise move for him to resign with WWE. That being said, I think TNA dropped the ball with Killings and it appears that once the Three Live Crew storyline concluded TNA did nothing with Killings but did have new direction for BG James as well as Konnan. BG James formed the James Gang, which is now known as VKM with Kip James and Konnan went on to be the manager of LAX. "The Truth" was the tag partner of Pacman but it was such a ridiculous storyline it can't really be seen as something that benefited his career.

Depending on what site you visit you will read different rumors regarding Chris Harris' status with TNA regarding his contact and his future with his company. Harris is a multi time tag champion in TNA and was apart of America's Most Wanted with James Storm. AMW was pushed as TNA's top tag team during it's early years and they had some great matches with The Naturals. When Storm turned heel it appeared that Harris would get a push but even after a spot in the main event of a TNA PPV TNA didn't do anything to follow up to it to push Harris. Harris is one of the better young stars in TNA and has alot of potential so it would probably be a smart move if TNA kept him in the company but considering he hasn't had a match on Impact in weeks it doesn't seem as though TNA is doing anything to keep him with the company.

Shelly Martinez made her TNA debut recently and it seems as though she will add alot to LAX. I think she also did a great job with the Aerial character in WWE, which is why it doesn't exactly make sense that she was released but not much makes sense in pro wrestling. Martinez has a unique look and she has alot of potential to be successful in pro wrestling. Martinez could replace the spot Konnan left in LAX and she could be the missing piece to the puzzle to make LAX a complete team. That being said, LAX needs to get back into the title hunt for the tag titles because especially with the addition of Martinez as a manager they have all the tools needed to be champions. LAX is probably one of TNA's best young teams that have alot of potential to be successful and they deserve a push but with BG James and Bob Armstrong as the number one contenders it doesn't seem as though LAX will be wrestling for the tag titles anytime soon.

It was announced on Jim Ross' website that he has signed a two year contract extension and it shouldn't come as a surprise because JR is simply the best commentator of all time. The emotion JR puts into calling the action adds alot to the matches and he enhances moments with his classic calls. Hopefully JR will be announcing the action for years to come because he is a one of a kind and he's the voice of Raw. One day someone else may call the action but no one could replace JR. He's a true legend and he's contributed alot to pro wrestling.

Until next week
