This week for That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It I'll be telling you who I think the winners will be at Lockdown.
The Senshi/Austin Starr match should be a good match but the match has happened before on both T.V. and PPV. It's feud without any build up to make it seem like the two wrestlers are settling the feud in the cage and with the addition of Bob Backlund as the special guest ref it seems like more of a comedy feud then an X Division feud. Senshi's run as X Division champion was way to short and I think he has more to offer as the X Division champion. He could really help the X Division and Senshi winning the title again could be a good decision considering Sabin's run as X Division champion has become some what stale. I'll pick Senshi to win the match but that's just a guess and it's possible Austin Starr could win the match.
There's another VKM v.s. Christy Hemme's team and hopefully this doesn't turn into a VKM v.s. washed up WWE tag teams feud. It's been reported on internet sites that the Basham Brothers will be the team that feud with VKM and if it's the Bashams there might be some good matches for the feud. The Bashams might not be the next legendary tag team but they are former WWE Tag Team champions and they can have some good matches. I'll pick VKM to win the match since the other team hasn't been announced but again this is just a guess and it's possible the other team could win the match.
The Petey Williams/Robert Rhoode match is one of those matches at the PPV that a steel cage doesn't really have a point to the match and it seems more like a match that should be on Impact then a match at a thirty dollar PPV. The story line is Petey fighting for Eric Young but the Eric Young/Rhoode storyline was more of a comedy storyline so maybe that's why the Petey/Rhoode match seems to lack importance on the card of the PPV. I'll pick Petey to win the match and it's possible there will be an Eric Young/Rhoode feud.
The Chris Harris/James Storm match might be an okay match but I still don't think that AMW should have been disbanned because even though TNA is trying to establish Storm as a heel it doesn't seem like he can be an effective heel and I still don't think Harris or Storm can be established stars outside of the tag team division. I'll pick James Storm to win the match and I think the feud will continue after the PPV.
The Christopher Daniels/Jerry Lynn match should be a good match and I'll pick Daniels to win the match. It seems like there's going to be a Daniels/Sting feud after the PPV and it will be interesting to see what the direction the Daniels character goes during the Sting/Daniels feud. It was a good decision to change Daniels' character some what because his character won't become stale. It seems like since his return Jerry Lynn has just been used to help push other wrestlers and I think it would have been a good decision if he won the X Division title when he challenged for the title a few months ago. I think it would be a good decision if Lynn had another X Division title run and it will be interesting to see if Lynn challenges for the title after the PPV.
The electrified cage match should be a good match and it will be interesting to see how TNA has an electrified cage match because most electrified cage matches that have taken place in Japan have had explosions when a wrestler hits the cage but after the fire in the Impact zone there probably won't be explosions when a wrestler hits the cage. I've mentioned before that Team 3D has been in TNA for almost a year and a half and what have they done? If Team 3D is going to win the NWA Tag Team titles then they will probably win the titles at Lockdown and it might be that Team 3D has chased the titles too long because LAX is continuing to have a solid run as tag champions. I think it would be a good decision for LAX to retain the titles but I'll pick Team 3D to win the titles at the PPV.
The Xscape should be a good match but it's a tough one to pick a winner. I've mentioned it before that I think that Sabin's run as X Division champion has become stable because he's done it all in the X Division. He's been the X Division champion, he's won the Ultimate X, and what else is for there left for him to do in the X Division? Dutt, Lethal, Shelly, and Shark Boy are in the match and it might be a good decision to have Sabin lose the title because it could help push one Dutt, Lethal, Shelly, or Shark boy if they won the title. Kevin Nash has really added alot to the X Division and he's made it more then just a bunch of flips. Lethal has developed a character and he could be a good X Division champion. Sonjay Dutt has always has good matches and he deserves to have a run as X Division champion. Alex Shelly has some good wrestling ability and he's entertaining. Shark Boy has some solid matches when he's not a jobber and and if you consider the wrestlers in the Xscape match it proves that the X Division could be more then Chris Sabin's stale run as X Division champion. I'll pick Sabin to win the match and it will be interesting to see who challenges for the X Division title after the PPV.
The Lethal Lockdown match might be an okay match and I'll pick Team Angle to win the match. The storyline has helped improve Christain's title reign but something that doesn't make sense is that Jeff Jarrett is wrestling in the match. He's a member of Team Angle but Sting is also a member of Team Angle. Sting defeated Jarrett for the NWA Heavy Weight title at Bound For Glory and it doesn't really make sense that they are members of Team Angle but atleast it's better then Jarrett being the NWA Heavy Weight champion. It will be interesting to see who wins the Lethal Lockdown match and who challenges for the NWA Heavy Weight title after the PPV.
Until next week
