Wrestlemania 24 is finally here, Sunday in Orlando at the Citrus Bowl. 10 matches on the card, 9 on the PPV. Here we go.

#1 contender's battle royal--winner faces Chavo Guerrero for the ECW title:

Something happened to Big Daddy V in recent weeks to have him removed from this match, replaced by manager Matt Striker. WWE won't reveal if there's an injury, or whatever. That's one less monster in the field.

On Tuesday, Uncreative only allowed Guerrero and Tommy Dreamer about 2 minutes for a main event squash. At first, I thought maybe, just maybe, it might be a tease leading to Dreamer pulling off the mother of all upsets (since protege Colin Delaney is not in the field) and advancing to the title match. Nahhhh, not gonna happen. Guerrero might be able to retain facing a normal sized opponent like a Dreamer, or a Jamie Noble, or a Mike Mizanin. However, my upset special is none other than the Olympic Powerhouse himself, Mark Henry.

Consider this for a moment. Henry has been plagued with injuries throughout his tenure with WWE. Whenever he's been close to a major push, he gets put on the DL. Fellow 1996 Olympic alum---and former colleague---Kurt Angle is the reigning TNA champion, but might not be for much longer. Henry, I think, would like one title run before he's done, and that may be why he re-upped, when everyone thought he was going to leave when his contract expired. Henry would still be a monster heel, but as ECW champion, he could have a very lengthy title run that would put the exclamation point on his career. That having been said:

ECW title: Chavo Guerrero vs. Mark Henry.

Chavo may be fresh, but if they slot this match just right, Henry will have had enough time to recover from the battle royal and get his 2nd wind. Fans won't know who to pick. Chavo as ECW champ is like fitting a square peg in a round hole. Henry, with the backing of GM Armando Estrada, would be a better fit.

Bunnymania lumberjill tag: Beth Phoenix & Melina Perez vs. Ashley Massaro & Maria Kanellis.

Never mind the presence of Snoop Dogg as MC. Four days ago, I speculated that Ashley might be plugged in to replace Candice Michelle, and sure enough, the very next night, it was announced that Candice had to have surgery on her injured clavicle again, putting her back on the disabled list. Ashley has had both a broken hand and some rumored other issues that prompted her to be sent home recently, but because this is all about promoting Playboy magazine, she gets the nod over a more deserving diva like Mickie James, who has a score to settle with Team Jealousy after getting screwed over on Heat in recent weeks. Maria is in the same boat that Candice has been in, improving in the ring, and it seems her days as a backstage reporter are far behind her. I'm sticking with my original pick, as Maria & Ashley will prevail, with Maria going over Ms. Selfish herself, Melina.

Belfast Brawl: David "Fit" Finlay vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield.

The Belfast Bruiser vs. the 10 Gallon Carpetbagger. You can pretty much figure the outcome of this one. When Finlay needs a late rally, "son" Hornswoggle returns from his storyline injuries and collects a receipt on Layfield. I can't see any other result. Finlay wins this one.

Money in the Bank ladder match: MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. Carlito vs. John Morrison

In my last column, I picked Kennedy to repeat, but then after his promo on Monday, I had second thoughts. Would they actually have him win and cash in the title shot that quick? Nope. Unlike other critics, I can't see MV-Me winning this one. His act is growing stale in my opinion. Morrison, 1/2 of the tag champs, brings a different dimension to the table with his athletic ability, and Undertaker has only faced him once in singles (Tribute to the Troops '06, when Morrison was still Johnny Nitro), so this would be a fresh matchup. It won't be long before Morrison ends his partnership with Miz, in my estimation, and he's more than ready to resume a singles career. Morrison is my new pick.

Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

As much as I'd like to see Show go over here and represent with a KO of Mayweather, I can't see it. I've a feeling Rey Mysterio may just drop in and collect a receipt for what Show did to him last month. It might not be raining in Orlando, but Mayweather may make it so after he's done. "Money" becomes the latest non-wrestler to score a win at Mania, and the first since Eric "Butterbean" Esch 9 years ago.

Battle for Brand Supremacy: Umaga vs. Dave Batista.

History tells us that Smackdown has owned Raw on PPV, especially at Wrestlemania. There was a nice little run in 2003-04 when the blue team only lost one interbrand match (Brock Lesnar losing to Bill Goldberg in the WWE farewell for both) at the big dance. This won't be any different. Umaga was in a similar high stakes match last year vs. Bobby Lashley, and ended up a loser. This time, he doesn't have to worry about a guest ref like Stone Cold Steve Austin. He only has to concern himself with Batista, who also has to redeem himself after losing the world title last year. In fact, this will be the only win Vicki Guerrero will savor the entire night. Pick: Batista.

WWE World title: Edge vs. Undertaker. Hit the reset button. Undertaker runs his record to 16-0, and not even Edge's legion of the brainwashed (that includes Mrs. Guerrero) can prevent that.

WWE title: Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H.

Orton has finally established himself as a credible champion. Unfortunately, all good things must end, and Cena unavailable for house shows for a few more weeks (movie commitment), that leaves the Cerebral Assassin to win title #12. Game on, over, and done.

Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair.

"You've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, and know when to run."
Kenny Rogers, "The Gambler", 1980

In a perfect world, Ric Flair would walk out a winner in his last match, but ever since he returned to WWE in November 2001, he's been hamstrung by a creative staff that wasn't familiar with his body of work, although the wrestlers were. HBK is one of those wrestlers who idolized Flair as a child, and I'll bet anything at all that Shawn was at Texas Stadium when Flair dropped the NWA title to the late Kerry Von Erich many moons ago. To a man, they probably couldn't pull Raw head scribbler Brian Gewirtz from his comic books long enough to make him understand how much Flair has meant to the business, but as long as Gewirtz has Vince McMahon's ear, he's going to win any argument unless sufficiently persuaded to the contrary. HBK has developed a reverse figure four as a alternate finisher in recent weeks, but it would be more appropriate if he won with his #1, the superkick. You know there will be the hearts & flowers moment after. By all rights, this should and probably will be your main event, with everyone from all 3 brands coming out to pay their respects after it's over. Pick: Michaels.

You have to hope that Jeff Jarrett and the TNA staff are paying attention on Sunday. Up close & personal. It may be worth it.
