Looking for forgiveness
"The Reaction Zone" Written by: Jacob Gilbert on 9/15/2007

Seems like only yesterday the WWE just presented Summerslam. Well, they're back at it again with Unforgiven tomorrow night. Here's a look at the card.

ECW World title: CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke. How many times have we seen this on free TV this year? This could be the show-stealer, and how many times have we said that in regards to Mr. Punk already this year? If you've seen this match before on Sci-Fi, then you already know how it's going to end. Sure thing #1. Pick: Punk.

WWE Women's title: Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix. Like Burke, Beth came up through OVW, and has been repackaged as the monster heel of the division since her recall earlier this summer. The last "glamazon" WWE had took a hike 6 years ago and we know what happened to her. Beth will finally represent her hometown (Buffalo) in a way the NFL Bills never could, as a champion. Sure thing #2. Pick: Phoenix.

WWE World tag team titles: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs. Brian Kendrick & Paul London. These two teams traded the titles in South Africa last week, so the "Redneck Wrecking Crew" are now 3-time tag team champs. This should be a solid match and redefine Raw's moribound tag division. Too soon for a title change again, though. Pick: Cade & Murdoch.

WWE title: John Cena vs. Randy Orton. Everyone assumed the sociopathic Orton would win the title last month at Summerslam, but it didn't happen. They've made Orton even more evil, but it's gone way too far. Cena will snap, but it won't cost him the title just yet. Pick: Orton via DQ.

Triple H vs. Carlito. Interim GM Jonathan Waylon Leon Carlton Coachman made this a 1-way no-DQ match favoring Carlito, which is stupid, irresponsible booking. There's no drama here, because the outcome was preordained before the match was announced. Sure thing #3. Pick: HHH.

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry. The Deadman has been out all summer, and has been forced back into action a wee bit early because of other injuries and suspensions depleting the Smackdown roster. Henry's path or rage just found a fork in the road. Sure thing #4. Pick: Undertaker.

WWE tag team titles: Montel V. Porter & Matt Hardy vs. Deuce & Domino (w/Cherry). The US champ has refused to grant Hardy rematches for the title, not so much because of a real-life physical ailment, but rather typical heel laziness. The fact that Domino scored a clean pin on Smackdown over Porter should say something about how this match will turn out. It sets up the US title rematch, no later than No Mercy. Pick: Deuce & Domino.

WWE World title: Great Khali (w/Runjin Singh) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Batista. They've found a way to get the title off Khali without having him job, but job he will. I don't think Smackdown fans can wait any longer to see a title change. Maybe Singh will finally take a bump for the sake of hazard pay. 619 sets up a spear and a title change. Pick: Batista.

Of course, I could be wrong.
