Source: UFC.com Rich Franklin (23-2) will try to avenge his October 14, 2006 loss against Anderson Silva (19-4) and try to win back the middleweight championship in his home town on October 20, 2007 at the U.S. Bank Arena in Ohio and live on Pay Per View starting at 10PM. Franklin lost the middleweight championship to Silva in a first round TKO due to knee strikes. Silva has successfully defended his belt against Travis Lutter and Nathan Marquadt. Franklin has also won his last 2 fights against Jason McDonald and Yushin Okami.
Also confirmed for the card will be former heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (25-3) against Brandon Vera (8-0). The 6'8 monster Sylvia lost his championship last March in a unanimous decision loss to Randy Couture. Vera kept his perfect record alive last November when he defeated Frank Mir via TKO (strikes) at the 1:09 mark of round 1.
