The International Fight League and its broadcast network-television broadcast partner MyNetworkTV announced Tuesday that one hour of the Nov. 3 World Grand Prix semifinals will be aired live at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT/MT), marking the first time mixed martial arts will be shown live in prime time on broadcast television.

"This is a historic announcement for the sport and another step forward for our brand, our world-class athletes and our fans and business partners," IFL CEO and co-founder Gareb Shamus stated in a press release. "MyNetworkTV has been a great partner for us, and we are very excited to again bring the sport live on prime time and expose the new stars of MMA to the widest audience possible."

MyNetworkTV, which reaches over 97 percent of the country, according to the IFL, has aired taped IFL content since early 2007. On Monday, MyNetworkTV featured the New York Pitbulls dethroning the Quad Cities Silverbacks in the just-completed IFL World Team finals.
