Unfortunately, it seems as though being moved out of the main event might've taken some of the starch out of this contest. Morrison collected the first fall with a schoolboy rollup and a handful of jeans on Yang. Ref Mike Posey was out of position, otherwise it goes the other way. Seconds earlier, Moore stopped Morrison from taking an illegal pin with his hand on the rope. It was obvious what the intent was.

The 2nd fall went to the challengers, as Yang collected a receipt on Morrison with a moonsault after battling out of the tree of woe. From that point, the champs went on cruise control. First, they got heat on Yang by working on the legs. However, once on the floor, the champs were easy prey for a plancha by Moore and a tope by Yang. Back in the ring, Moore hit the Whisper in the Wind on Miz, only to get a 2. Back to Yang, who hit the moonsault on Miz with just 4 seconds left, but Miz was out of position and only caught the boots to the head. Winner: None. Match ends in a 1-1 draw, with Morrison & Mizanin retaining.

Match 2: Colin Delaney vs. Mark Henry Squashola! Same deal as last week vs. Big Daddy V. Total decimation after a pre-match interview by Tazz. Rinse & repeat. Released gorilla press slam. Banzai drop (something new for Henry). World's Strongest Slam. Winner: Mark Henry.

Match 3: Layla El vs. Kelly Kelly (dance-off) 2007 Diva Search runner-up Lena Yada, who debuted as a backstage reporter last Friday on Smackdown, serves as host for this contest, just so Tazz can stay at the desk. On paper, this should be squashola #2, in favor of ex-NBA cheerleader Layla, but it's up to the fans to decide, so......! The girls dance to Timbaland's "Throw it on Me". Just before the decision can be rendered, however, Lena decides to put herself in the competition, and after doing even worse than Kelly, declares herself the winner. I don't understand the logic of that at all.

Shelton Benjamin promo. Benjamin has entered the Royal Rumble match, and predicts victory.

Match 4: CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero (non-title) Well, the stip's the same as last week. Win, and Chavo gets a title shot. The match, for the most part, is almost an instant replay from last week. As was the case then, Chavo went for the Three Amigos, but Punk stopped him after 2 and went for the Go To Sleep, but Chavo countered with a vertical backbreaker. Frustrated over his inability to pin the champion, Chavo tries taking a page from his late uncle Eddie's playbook and try a little misdirection. He loosens a turnbuckle cover to draw the attention of referee Scott Armstrong. Guerrero then goes to the floor and retrieves the title belt. However, Armstrong cuts him off, and, realizing just what Chavo had in mind, calls for the bell. Punk adds the exclamation point with the GTS. Winner: CM Punk via DQ.
