We open with a recap of last night's "Who is Vince's Kid?" angle. In the ring to open the show proper is Jonathan Coachman, who will continue his investigation tonight. Not only that, but ECW is finally getting a General Manager, none other than---ha, ha---Armando Estrada. Well, we know Vince likes to give minorities executive jobs.

Estrada presides over the official contract signing for the ECW World title rematch between John Morrison & CM Punk @ Summerslam. Morrison signs first, then starts talking smack to the challenger. Not a good idea. Punk cuts a killer promo on Morrison, shredding the facade the champion has created. Come Summerslam, shall we say, Punk will be the Rider on the Storm that will have Morrison singing the Roadhouse Blues.

Estrada makes two matches: Morrison vs. Boogeyman, and in our opening bout, Punk vs. Big Daddy V.

Match 1: CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) This match actually did more to promote BDV as a unstoppable monster than prepare Punk for his title match. Punk hit 2 high knees in the corner, but his attempted bulldog was countered into the World's Largest Spinebuster. It was all BDV from there. Spin kick knocks Punk to the floor. He tries to get up, but a running shoulder tackle sends him sternum first to the announce table. The Straight Edge Superstar is unable to answer ref Mike Posey's 10 count after that. Winner: Big Daddy V via countout.

Boogeyman vs. Morrison is our main event, and we get a video package of the Best of Boogeyman.

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer has a meeting with Estrada. He wants to be the first to challenge the Punk-Morrison winner after Summerslam. Estrada claims Dreamer is lazy, and tells Tommy he has a minute to get to the ring. After running past Nunzio, Stevie Richards, Extreme Expose, & Coach, he gets there, but what awaits might make him think twice.

Match 2: Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) vs. Tommy Dreamer Not satisfied with one win on the evening, BDV makes it 2 for 2 on the night. Total squash. BDV hit all his moves this time, and added an elbow drop "to the heart", according to Joey Styles, to finish off Dreamer. Winner: Big Daddy V.

We're shown footage of last week's match between Balls Mahoney & Mike Mizanin, and the beginnings of some kind of relationship between Kelly Kelly and Mahoney. Back live, Mahoney is offering to take Kelly to the restaurant at the casino after the show. Miz, Layla, & Brooke interrupt, and Mizizzle mocks Balls. The girls & Miz leave to prepare for their routine later.

Match 3: Stevie Richards vs. Kevin Thorn 3rd time in 4 weeks these two have been matched. It follows the same pattern, with Thorn squashing Richards like a bug. Stevie does make a late run, but it just doesn't appear to be his night. Thorn hits the spinebuster bomb and earns the 3 count. However, the frustration that has built over the last month boils over, and Thorn, unsatisified with just the pinfall, continues his assault, ignoring the warnings of ref Mike Posey. After Thorn hits a crucifix bomb on Richards, Posey goes to ring announcer Justin Roberts and informs him that the pinfall has been voided because of Thorn's post-match attack. Winner: Stevie Richards via reverse-decision DQ.

Backstage, Coach interviews Elijah Burke. Not exactly Howard Cosell and Muhammad Ali, but, well......!

Joey & Tazz run down the Summerslam card as of now.

Last week's main event is recapped. No Extreme Expose dance routine this week.

Match 4: John Morrison vs. Boogeyman (non-title) Boogey has gone back to the Darth Maul-style facepaint, which is a good sign. He's also showing a lot more in the ring than usual. A leapfrog early in the match. A Stinger splash, which nets a near fall. Morrison wasn't expecting this at all! Morrison hit a bicycle kick to knock Boogey off the top to buy himself some time. He misfired on a 2nd rope corkscrew moonsault for the 2nd week in a row, and this time it might be because he miscalculated his position. He did hit the springboard enziguri, but that only got him a 2. He had Boogey pinned a short time later, but Boogey had his hands on the bottom rope. Morrison tried to pull his opponent back toward the center of the ring, But Boogeyman wouldn't budge. Ref Scott Armstrong tried to force a break, but Morrison made a cardinal mistake and shoved the arbiter. Armstrong called for the bell immediately. Winner: Boogeyman via DQ.

Post-match, Morrison continued to argue with Armstrong, then walked right into the chokebomb. He managed, however, to avoid getting wormed. Morrison will team with Big Daddy V vs. Boogey & Punk on Saturday Night's Main Event.
