After a recap of last week, we open with Jeremy Borash "plausibly live outside the home of AJ Styles' grandmother", supposedly in Gainesville, Georgia. Oh, stop the pain already!!!! I think I'm going to be sick! Continuing remotes involving the soap opera of Styles choosing sides between Kurt Angle and Christian Cage will continue throughout the show! Ay-yi-yi!

In the ring, Jim Cornette & Matt Morgan---well, Cornette does all the talking, anyway---add some hype to Final Resolution. Robert Roode & Ms. Brooks will battle Booker T & wife Sharmell in a mixed tag, which would be Sharmell's 1st match since 2005 when she was on Smackdown and she & Booker feuded with Angle. Inevitably, Karen Angle will make her wrestling debut vs. Sharmell as well. Meanwhile, Samoa Joe comes out and vents his frustration by cutting a promo on Cornette about not getting title matches. Noting that the Outsiders were announced for a title match vs. Styles & Tomko at Final Resolution, Joe refers to Scott Hall as the "Phantom of the Impact Zone", in reference to Hall's last minute scratch at Turning Point, where this angle started. Enter Kevin Nash, who cuts a great promo on Joe, saying that he & Hall have reached a certain plateau in the business, and that Joe has not reached that point yet. They're ready to throw down, but Cornette stops that and reveals that Hall won't be at Final Resolution, but Nash & Joe can team vs. Styles & Tomko. It's the only way they'll be a part of the PPV.

Crystal is backstage with Roode & Brooks. Traci wants no part, really, of this mixed tag, but Roode welcomes the opportunity. Let's break these two up, ok?

Team 3D & Johnny Devine are talking up Ultimate X vs. Jay Lethal & the Motor City Machine Guns. Ray claims to have been doing some training for the match. Yeah, sure, at the buffet table. Johnny, on the other hand, looks like Christian Cage picked his hair style for him. It's so 2000. Enter the Voodoo Kin Mafia. Team 3D laughs at Kip James because of his pink tights & knee braces. He's still got issues with BG over who BG's partner is going to be in the tag title match.......

Match 1: Rock & Rave Infection (Jimmy Rave & Lance Hoyt )vs. Voodoo Kin Mafia vs. Team 3D vs. LAX (Homicide & Hernandez) vs. the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) Our first match is the first of 4 gauntlet matches. LAX & the Guns are in the on-deck circle, so to speak. Hoyt, Kip James, Homicide, Brother Devon, & Shelley start. Every few minutes, their respective partners will join the fray. It comes down to the Rock & Rave Infection and the Guns. Blink, and suddenly, it's over, as Shelley pins Rave to end it. Winners: Motor City Machine Guns.

Post-match, Johnny Devine leads Team 3D to the ring for a beatdown, this after the Guns had eliminated Team 3D earlier, with Ray taking Shelley out of the match in between. 3D for both Sabin & Shelley, and then Devon & Devine put the Guns' hands on the table for Ray to smack with a kendo stick, the idea being to "break" the hands so they can't climb up the cable in Ultimate X. Jay Lethal leads the rest of the X division to the ring to make the save.

Crystal is with the Angles, and Kurt doesn't seem to think that his match with Christian Cage could go either way, as Crystal is trying to imply. Typical Angle rant.

As a result of the 1st match, the tag team rankings are as follows:

1. Motor City Machine Guns
2. Rock & Rave Infection
3. Latin American Xchange
4. Team 3D
5. Voodoo Kin Mafia

Mike Tenay & Don West run down the Final Resolution card.

Borash interviews AJ Styles' "3rd grade teacher", who is reduced to tears.

Match 2: Angelina Love vs. Ms. Brooks vs. Roxxi Laveaux vs. Christy Hemme vs. Awesome Kong vs. Velvet Sky vs. Jackie Moore vs. ODB Love & Brooks start this gauntlet match. Kong already has a title match in hand on Sunday vs. Gail Kim, and it just happens that she is the last woman in the match. 'Nuff said. ODB, a former OVW champion eliminated Brooks, but then after Kong came in, she promptly cleared out Hemme, Love, & Sky right before the commercial. Now, you'd think Kong would just roll on, and win the match, getting some added momentum going into the title match? Wrong! Moore, Laveaux, & ODB eliminated Kong with 3 triple dropkicks before dumping her over the top. Kong was rightfully ticked. Laveaux then dumped Moore, leaving her & ODB to go at it. The voodoo queen went right after the former OVW champion at the start, and it finishes with them. Laveaux blocked the Dirty Dozens at 6, but there was no avoiding the Thesz Press off the middle turnbuckle. Winner: ODB.

Crystal is now with Tomko. According to the goateed muscleman, the buck stops with him. He's tired of Cage, Angle, & Styles, among others, and with Angle having demanded a show of loyalty, Tomko is headed to the Impact Zone to call out the champion!

The women's rankings, based on the result of the last match:

8. Brooks
7. Hemme
6. Love
5. Sky
4. Kong
3. Moore
2. Laveaux
1. ODB

Kong, of course, will likely end up with the title come Sunday.

Tomko calls out Kurt Angle, who brings along wife Karen. At first, Tomko plays it real coy, and a chant goes up from the ringsiders, drawing a smile from the Jacksonville native. Angle is SO not digging. Tomko tells Kurt he made his decision a few weeks ago, and it's real simple. He'll take a bullet not for Angle or Cage, but for himself. Out for #1, if ya will. They shake, but when Kurt tries to strike with the title belt, Tomko grabs him by the neck and threatens to break said neck the next time Kurt tries something like that.

Now, it's Styles' "high school coach". Stop the pain!

Crystal is now with Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal, and it has to do with the kiss that Dutt gave "Ms. Liz" (So Cal Val) 2 weeks ago. It sends Black Machismo off on a rant referencing the late Miss Elizabeth and Hogan "back in the 80's". Please. Dutt gives Crystal a kiss on the cheek.

Christian Cage shows up after the two cruisers leave, and puts over Tomko, then pleads with Styles to make his decision. He invites Kurt Angle to be at ringside for the heavyweight gauntlet main event.

Match 3: Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey Williams vs. Shark Boy vs. Johnny Devine vs. Elix Skipper vs. Senshi The X division is up next. Skipper was the 3rd man in and 1st one out, eliminating himself trying to pancake Dutt in the corner. Shark Boy was eliminated shortly after Devine came in, but the "traitor" loyal to Team 3D was quickly dismissed himself. Senshi eliminated Dutt, leaving it up to him & Williams. Senshi went for the Warrior's Way, but Williams rolled out of the way. He hits a sunset flip over the top, then rolls into the Canadian Destroyer. Like, good-bye, eh? Winner: Petey Williams.

Crystal is with the most shameless drinker in TNA, James Storm, along with Jackie Moore. Storm is still ticked that Eric Young has been beating him in drinking contests, and has created something called the DCS (Drinking Championship Series). You know what that means, of course, a parody of a certain college football post-season series currently on the air. Crystal seems to be digging, but of course, she's about as sharp as a block of moldy cheese.

As a result of the last match, the X division rankings would be like this:

1. Petey Williams
2. Senshi
3. Sonjay Dutt
4. Johnny Devine
5. Shark Boy
6. Elix Skipper

Figure that Senshi may be on the way out, and that Christopher Daniels, "fired" last month, could return any time, and that changes everything.

Crystal is with Booker T & Sharmell. Booker wants to get his wife out of the mixed tag on Sunday, but Shar isn't scared. Well, considering that she was in a match vs. Kurt Angle 2 1/2 years ago, well, I wouldn't be scared, either.

Match 4: Booker T vs. James Storm vs. Robert Roode vs. Kevin Nash vs. Scott Steiner vs. Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe vs. Eric Young vs. Chris Harris vs. Rellik vs. Black Reign vs. Kaz vs. Judas Mesias vs. Abyss Matt Morgan is at ringside as a sort of enforcer, perhaps for Samoa Joe? Nope. He's just a traffic cop in this case. Cage was the last man in the match, but Kurt Angle came out hoping to ambush Cage as he came out of the tunnel. However, Cage waited patiently for Angle to turn his back, and then came out. A short brawl ensued as Rellik was eliminated, ending with Angle hitting the Olympic Slam on Cage against a ringpost. As security tossed Kurt out, Nash & Joe were the last two men in the ring, not realizing that Cage hadn't officially entered the match. Nash & Joe shook hands, and Big Sexy stepped over the top rope, eliminating himself, just as Abyss had done moments earlier in disposing of Mesias. However, Cage swooped in and schoolboyed Joe for a quick pin. Winner: Christian Cage.

Back at the house, Styles swerved everyone. First, he claimed he would side with Cage, then Angle, and then decided at the last second to postpone his decision----again---until the PPV. Something tells me the women's title won't be the only one changing hands on Sunday.
