The
program begins, as has become customary, with a recap of last
week's key angles. Speaking of Angles, Kurt Angle walks into
Jim Cornette's office. Cornette has seen to it that Samoa
Joe cannot interfere in Kurt's match tonight, but there's
a favor he needs of the Olympian. Reminding Angle that he
can get him into the mix for the NWA title, Cornette makes
a deal......
Kurt Angle vs. Maverick Matt (w/Johnny Devine & Kazarian).
Say what you will about Raven's Serotonin group, and how it's
supposed to be a rebooted Raven's Nest, despite the imagery
and the makeup, they're a JTTS team. The Maverick has his
moments thanks to his teammates interfering on his behalf,
but it only postpones the inevitable. Devine & Kazarian
interfere one time too many, and Angle suplexes them halfway
to Disney World. Angle applies the anklelock 2.0 (w/the leg
lace), and Matt taps out. After a break, we see that Raven,
wearing a mask and a white suit, "punishes" Matt
for his latest failure. Winner: Kurt Angle.
AJ Styles, James Storm (w/Gail Kim), & Chris Sabin
vs. Rhino, Christopher Daniels, & Petey Williams.
Tenay puts over that Gail is "reluctantly" accompanying
Storm to the ring. Standard 6-man fare, getting out of control
in a hurry. It comes down to the former tag team champions.
Styles feigns another knee injury, and suckers Daniels in.
Styles cradles Daniels to gain the pinfall. After the match,
Rhino chased Styles out of the Impact Zone. Winners: AJ Styles,
James Storm, & Chris Sabin.
Jeremy Borash is with James Mitchell. Abyss isn't there at
the moment, and for the first time in 18 months, Mitchell
is alone. He issues an ultimatum to the NWA champ to "come
home", or his secret will be revealed. Gee, how do you
think this show will end?
PCS final round: Texas Hold 'Em poker. Alex Shelley wins and
will face Austin Starr at Final Resolution.
Borash with Chris Harris. Harris is wearing a patch over his
right eye to sell the injuries at the hands of Storm last
month. He's hurt and confused. The bit is abruptly cut off
as we find that Team 3D has struck, attacking Konnan. This
is the injury angle that eliminates LAX's leader indefinitely
due to his recent surgery. Back from break, and Borash talks
to Team 3D, which is just Ray continuing his promo from earlier.
Eric Young made an appearance before Team 3D made the scene.
Abyss vs. Tomko. There's been a cage with a "Reserved"
sign at ringside all night. Cornette is in the ring with Tomko
& Christian Cage, and we find the cage is meant for Cage.
Since Tomko is barred from ringside in the title match at
the PPV, the fair thing would be to keep Cage out of the match.
Angle is there to ensure that Cage remains locked away. Good
luck. Abyss came out of the face tunnel, but Mitchell is holding
the belt. Samoa Joe came down and brawled with Angle. In the
confusion, Angle loses the key to the cage, which happens
to be within reach of Cage. He frees himself, and just as
Abyss has the match won with the Black Hole Slam, Cage hits
the ring, getting his bodyguard DQd in his first TNA match.
Winner: Abyss via DQ. They doubled on the champion until the
lights went out. Sting appeared and cleaned house. Sting &
Abyss raised their arms in unison, but predictably the champion
turned back heel and hit the Shock Treatment on Sting, reuniting
again with Mitchell to end the show. |
