After the usual recap from the previous week, we find the Angle Alliance backstage, minus Karen Angle, but with pet journalist Jeremy Borash. The trio have singles matches tonight:

Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage--6 Sides of Steel
AJ Styles vs. Kevin Nash--street fight
Tomko vs. Samoa Joe--1st blood

Angle orders them to join hands, but Tomko isn't playing along. Hmmm.

In the ring, Jim Cornette puts over the triple main event even further while at the same time plugging Sunday's Destination X PPV.

Cornette then brings out Booker T, who faces Robert Roode on Sunday. I should point out that they've changed Booker's theme music into a remix variant on his long-time WCW/WWE theme, putting back his catchphrase, "Can you dig it, Sucka?". Cornette reveals that the match is now a "Stand by Your Man" strap match, with Traci Brooks subbing for Sharmell in Booker's corner. Before Booker can get started with a promo, Roode & Payton Banks are out, and Roode claims he won't put Banks in the line of fire. Considering how he's carjacked her rental vehicle and left her behind in recent weeks, I'd say no one's buying that line of BS. Booker & Roode brawl in the aisle, with security & Matt Morgan having a time of it trying to separate them.

Crystal is with Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, & Kevin Nash. Cage does most of the talking, using a lot of insider stuff that some people might not get, promising payback to Angle for 2 screwjob losses in as many PPV's. Nash does a mock Hulk Hogan promo on Styles, which was pretty funny.

Match 1: AJ Styles vs. Kevin Nash (street fight) This was one of those times where you wish Impact was on PBS. They took the fight to the floor early, but it wasn't until after the commercial that we were allowed to see Styles' best move, a flying forearm that brought Nash down, enabling Styles to gain an advantage. However, Styles' fatal mistake was letting Nash get up. Even though Styles worked on the knees, he squandered the advantage. However, Styles did enough damage such that Nash wasn't able to fully connect with the Jackknife. Styles went up top, but jumped right into a chokeslam. And when was the last time Nash used a chokeslam? Winner: Kevin Nash.

Crystal is with Black Reign, who cuts a promo on Kaz & Eric Young. Spooky. Jeremy Borash would later catch up with Young to get his thoughts. Apparently, Eric isn't comfortable unless he's scared about something.

Crystal interviews Jay Lethal & So Cal Val. Lethal (and Young) are in a Destination X battle royal later, but Lethal is thinking ahead to a title defense vs. former X division champ Petey Williams on Sunday, and a post-match after party with Val. Lethal leaves, and Val says that he mentioned something about "next week". Uh-oh, you don't suppose......

Match 2: Destination X battle royal The field includes the aforementioned Jay Lethal & Eric Young, plus Black Reign, Rellik, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt, Homicide, Hernandez, Curry Man, Shark Boy, & Petey Williams. Team 3D couldn't make weight again, so they're out already. Your final four are Williams, Rave, Curry Man, & Rellik. Williams was building up a head of steam to go after Rave, but Curry took that momentum and used it against him, sending Williams out. Rave & Curry briefly doubled on Rellik, but after Rellik was down on the canvas, they went back at it against each other. After the spice rack, Curry dismissed Rave, then backdropped Rellik over after skinning the cat, so to speak, using Rave as a cushion. Winner: Curry Man.

As it turns out, Curry & Shark Boy will face Team 3D---assuming Ray & Devon make weight---in a fish market street fight. If Team 3D doesn't make weight, or if they lose the match, they're gone from TNA.

Jeremy Borash is with Velvet Sky, Angelina Love, & Roxxi LaVeaux. Roxxi, you see, had a premonition of disaster prior to Angelina's non-title match vs. Awesome Kong last week, which the so-called "beautiful people" ignored to their sorrow. They apologize to Roxxi and offer to give the voodoo princess a free makeover next week. Hmmmmm.

Match 3: Samoa Joe vs. Tomko (1st blood) The first part of the match was contested on the floor, as Tomko tried using the ring bell & hammer to lacerate Joe. Joe tried using everything---except a kitchen sink that wasn't available---to make Tomko bleed, but just couldn't do it. The two exchanged chair shots, but when Tomko went for a boot to the head, Joe dodged and locked on the Kokina Clutch. Ref Rudy Charles called for the bell, but raised Tomko's hand in victory. Why? Joe was lacerated ever so slightly on the right arm, and Charles saw that tiny bit of blood. Winner: Tomko.

Rough Cut debuts with the first installment of a series of vignettes with Kip and BG James, the former Voodoo Kin Mafia, talking about how the team came together in WWE some 10-odd years ago. Of course, they can't use the classic footage, but Kip acknowledges that he can't talk worth a dang, but is more dedicated in the weight room. Part 2 is next week.

Jeremy Borash talks to James Mitchell. He claims victory, as Abyss is gone, seemingly for good, and despite the fact that Judas Mesias lost at Against All Odds, Mitchell & Mesias will take credit for the man-monster's departure. Mitchell then cuts a promo on Mesias' opponent du jour, Rhino. Mitchell briefly references a period when he & Rhino were on speaking terms, presumably in ECW back in the day, and discussing alcohol. He says Mesias only drinks blood, like a vampire, and will feast on Rhino.

The war machine is out for that match, but cuts a promo on James Storm, his opponent on Sunday.......

Match 4: Rhino vs. Judas Mesias (w/James Mitchell) Unfortunately for Mitchell, his prophecy does not come to pass this time. Pretty even match between two of the biggest men in the company. However, the intensity is missing from Mesias because his raison d'etre, Abyss, is gone. Mesias hit a side Russian legsweep and got 2. He made one fatal mistake, and that was going up top for a big splash. He got nothing but canvas, and Rhino cashed in on the error in judgment with the gore. Any other night, Mitchell, since he was right in range, could've prevented it, but he didn't this time. Winner: Rhino.

Post-match, Storm & Jackie Moore show up, and Storm blindsides the war machine with the Last Call superkick.

Crystal is with Raisha Saeed & Awesome Kong. Saeed reads a "prepared statement", acknowledging that Kong doesn't know her opponent tonight, Salinas, but is sorry that she has to destroy the LAX valet. Saeed then begins to cut a promo on ODB & Gail Kim, but is cut off by the other 2/3 of LAX, Hernandez & Homicide, the latter of whom rags on Saeed, but security intervenes as Hernandez goes nose-to-nose with Kong.

Match 5: Awesome Kong (w/Raisha Saeed) vs. Salinas (non-title) Squashola!!! Kong no-sold all of Salinas' offense. All it took was a backfist and the Awesome Bomb. As Don West put it, get a spatula, it's done. Winner: Awesome Kong.

Crystal is with ODB & Gail Kim. According to the former champion, Kong is vulnerable once taken off her feet, but it's a question as to who's the better wrestler, and ODB, spitting tobacco this week, likes that answer, since she would have an argument if Gail tried to put herself over.

Match 6: Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage (non-title) (steel cage match) These two have had their battles, but this is the first I can recall them using a cage. It's about what you'd expect from these two, back and forth from the opening bell. Angle hit a top rope Olympic Slam, and even applied the anklelock on the top rope, but couldn't close the deal. Every time Angle wanted to walk out of the cage, Christian would grab an ankle to block his way. The end came when both men began climbing down the outside of the cage side by side. They jumped down and landed virtually at the same time. Referee Earl Hebner had to make a judgment call, and ruled in favor of Cage. Incensed, Angle started the fight anew on the floor, and then Styles & Tomko came back out. Tomko had a padlock and chain to close the cage from inside so they could beat down Christian. Olympic Slam, Styles Clash, then Tomko's reverse F5 (Hercules Cutter). Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash came out to try to open the cage as Angle applied the anklelock on Cage. The Angle Alliance faces a 3-on-2 disadvantage at Destination X in the first 5:00 of their match, but sore loser Kurt can't accept that. Winner: Christian Cage.
