We open with Jeremy Borash running down the highlights of tonight's card, standing outside Jim Cornette's office. Soon, Christian Cage emerges and blows off Borash. Cornette follows and announces that Tomko will face Rhino later.

Booker T welcomes back his wife Sharmell, who actually returned at Destination X 11 days ago, wreaking havoc on Robert Roode & Payton Banks, and anyone that wasn't moving out of her way. Booker has set up a buffet table for his wife, and promises he won't put her in harm's way again. Unfortunately, that promise rings hollow, when Roode & Banks come out to the stage. Cornette, having collected Matt Morgan along the way, comes out to mediate. He's upset with Sharmell for what happened at the PPV, and has put her & Booker in vs. Roode & Banks at Lockdown. Roode is laughing, Booker's irate. Booker overturns the table, spilling champagne. Cornette then books Booker vs. AJ Styles for later, making a timely Eliot Spitzer joke as he goes.

Backstage, Styles is with Crystal, and is himself irate over the match, claiming he wasn't supposed to wrestle. Team 3D & Johnny Devine arrive, and Ray confirms that Tomko invited him & Devon onto his team for Lockdown. In a perfect world, Ray reasons, the two teams might be facing each other for the tag titles, but that isn't happening (yet). He warns Booker to beware.

Borash is now with Eric Young & Kaz, who will face Scott Steiner & Petey Williams next. Young talks about his alter ego, Super Eric, as if he's a completely different entity. Kaz is understandably confused. Young's still scared of Black Reign & Rellik, though......

Match 1: Petey Williams & Scott Steiner (w/Rhaka Khan) vs. Eric Young & Kaz Decent opener, marred by a lame finish. Steiner had to feel like a fish out of water running with 3 X division wrestlers. Kaz and Williams started with some chain wrestling. Young more than held his own with Steiner, and at one point gave countryman Williams the Death Valley Driver. Kaz countered the Canadian Destroyer with a Backdrop Driver. Young was set to come off the top, but Rellik & Black Reign came out. Reign declared that "evil always triumphs", which of course is total BS. Steiner took advantage of the distraction, cleared out Kaz, and hit a fallaway slam off the top to finish off Young. Winners: Petey Williams & Scott Steiner.

Post-match, however, Steiner still isn't happy with his new partner, and Williams is once again handcuffed and hooded. Last week, he was put in a dunk tank. What is it going to be this time?

"Earlier today", Mike Tenay tried to mediate the dispute between Rhino & Christian Cage. Cage wants the War Machine on his team for Lockdown, and admits that he should've been there for Rhino during all his problems. Rhino, however, reveals that when he was beaten down by Cage, his daughter watched the carnage on television, and her mom, Rhino's ex-wife, tried to explain it away as "just playing". Rhino wonders if Christian can ever make things right for the War Machine's daughter. Rhino then walks out.

Match 2: Rhino vs. Tomko Standard big man match, but again, tainted. Just as we came back from break, AJ Styles came out and blindsided Rhino. Styles then hid under the ring while Tomko hit a clothesline on the weakened Rhino. Winner: Tomko.

Post-match, several ringside fans pointed under the ring and got the attention of ref Earl Hebner. Hebner pulled back the bunting and found Styles. Styles tried to deny everything, and Tomko acted upset with his partner. But just as Hebner was about to overturn the decision, Tomko & Styles attacked anew. Christian Cage came out and evened the sides. The tag champs were chased out for the moment, while Cage & Rhino shook hands, putting their differences aside. Team 3D struck, and now it was 4-on-2. Kevin Nash came out to make the save. Back comes Cornette & Morgan. Rhino will wrestle a 2nd time tonight, as he teams with Cage vs. Team 3D.

More with Black Machismo Jay Lethal and his new girlfriend, So Cal Val. They're having dinner, and find Sonjay Dutt as a waiter, sucking up to Val. Oh, brother!

Match 3: Sonjay Dutt vs. Homicide (w/Salinas & Hernandez) 2nd qualifying match for the X division Xcape match at Lockdown. Unfortunately, it's too short. Homicide hit a exploder suplex into a bridge for 2, then a snap suplex gets another 2. Dutt tries to go airborne with a springboard, but slips off the top rope. He acts as though something is wrong with his left knee, which has Homicide frustrated, and Val concerned, as she is at ringside. Dutt had been flirting with her the entire time. Dutt tells ref Mark Johnson he's ready to continue, but his knee buckles again. Homicide moves in, and Dutt cradles him. Winner: Sonjay Dutt.

Post-match, Dutt starts to dance. His tactics are something more akin to someone like, say for example, AJ Styles. LAX isn't happy, of course, and after Dutt gives them some half-hearted hugs, Homicide & Hernandez strike back. Boot to the gut from Homicide, and Hernandez hits a ginormous Border Toss from one end of the ring to the other. LAX even takes the money Dutt had collected pre-match!

Crystal is with Booker & Sharmell. Booker doesn't understand what's going on, but promises Styles that it's not personal, just business. Clearly, his focus is still on Roode.

Tenay reveals that BG & Kip James will face each other, I believe at Lockdown. Part 3 of Rough Cut is up now. BG's priorities have changed, thanks to having a wife and 3 kids. Kip, predictably, takes the heel's viewpoint, mentioning that he "carried" BG. BG talks about how people expected them to be the "New Age Outlaws" all over again, but it just didn't happen. Sadly, this continues next week on Impact's 1st live episode.

AJ Styles is out for our next match, and there really isn't any mystery. His guest is, of course, Karen Angle. Like, did they really need to milk this?

Match 4: AJ Styles (w/Karen Angle) vs. Booker T (w/Sharmell) There is heat already between Karen & Sharmell from past bouts between their respective husbands in TNA. The dynamic between Karen & AJ is different, of course, but that's for another time. Karen is sitting among the ringsiders, not in Styles' corner per se. Pretty even match to start, but as Booker is building momentum, Robert Roode comes back out to the stage, diverting his attention, and enabling Styles to take control with a enziguri. During the break, Cornette & Morgan came back out and threw Roode out. Styles maintained control with a dropkick and a slingshot plancha. A 2nd enziguri gets 2, but Booker takes over. He misses the axe kick, enabling Styles to score another near fall with the Pele kick. Meanwhile, Payton Banks comes out, but Sharmell chases her away with a leather strap. They pass the area where Karen is sitting and that distracts Styles long enough for Booker to cradle him. 2nd match in a row to end with the same finish. Winner: Booker T.

As Booker & Sharmell celebrate, Styles sees that Karen is gone. Now what?

More propaganda from Raisha Saeed, speaking on behalf of Awesome Kong. How else to describe the promo?

Match 5: ODB & Gail Kim vs. Angelina Love & Velvet Sky This spins out of last week's singles match between Velvet & Gail. Velvet & Angelina now look so much alike, both in hair and wardrobe, they're practically twins. Another even match that deserved more time. Gail was the face in peril, having to deal with the so-called "beautiful people". ODB took the hot tag, and just went off. Gail cleared out Velvet, and ODB finished Angelina with a running powerslam. Winners: ODB & Gail Kim.

Jeremy Borash is with Kurt Angle, who now acts like Karen doesn't exist. He's focused squarely on Samoa Joe, who's "in training". Kurt admits that his goal when he arrived in TNA 18 months ago was to eliminate Joe. Oh, really? Now, since Joe has decided to put his TNA career on the line at Lockdown, Kurt gets to realize his goal. He will be sparring with 4 men next, and promises to bloody them up. The man is insane!

While we don't see Samoa Joe, we get a report on his training from a MMA fighter and a magazine reporter. Yes, MMA. Angle's been talking about this in radio interviews. He & Joe apparently are going to have a MMA match at Lockdown. And Angle's been talking about trying to bring Bobby Lashley to TNA? Maybe he's also thinking about old nemesis Brock Lesnar?

Angle, thus, goes barefoot, as do his sparring partners--Efraim Sims, John Davis, Frank Ciaso, and Cory Chavis. It's quick, not quite so painful, and the only blood comes from Chavis, who gets headbutted after a handshake by Angle, who then pounds him senseless. Ref Rudy Charles has a whistle to stop the action.

Borash is with Team Tomko, and Tomko delivers a money promo on Christian Cage. Devon borrows Tazz's trademark line. "Beat us if you can, survive if we let you!", he bellows. Ray, then, uses his brother's line, and you know what that is.

Match 6: Team 3D (w/Johnny Devine) vs. Christian Cage & Rhino There is plenty of familiarity with this bunch, save for Devine, who was never in WWE, unlike the others. I think Andrew Thomas had the night off, because Earl Hebner is officiating his 3rd match. As with Scott Steiner in the opener, Cage had to feel like a fish out of water. Cage played face in peril until a tag to Rhino, who was well rested. Double clothesline to Team 3D. They had Cage set up for the Doomsday Device, but Cage countered into a semi-victory roll, and Rhino pushed Devon into a Whassup headbutt right into Ray's groin. Rhino hit the gore, but Tomko pulled Hebner out of the ring, prompting the end of the match. Winners: Christian Cage & Rhino via DQ.

The battle continued as Styles joined the fray. Curry Man, Shark Boy, Kevin Nash, and the Motor City Machine Guns tried to help, but all 4 were destroyed. Curry ate a 3D, and Sharky suffered the effects of the Tornadoplex. Cage also ended up with 3D. Team Tomko celebrates, but a little prematurely, as suddenly, the lights dim, and the music of Sting begins to play, along with his entrance video. Is the "Icon" returning?

Next week: Angle spars with Styles & Tomko.
Awesome Kong defends the women's title against the winner of a fan vote.
Mike Tenay sits down with Karen Angle.
