We open with Christian Cage and his Lockdown team (Scott Steiner, AJ Styles, Abyss, James Mitchell, & Tomko) backstage with Letitia. Tomko's not digging the fact he has to face Rhino in an 8 Mile Street Fight. Mitchell brings up that---shock of shocks---Abyss was promised a title shot along with the others. Cage walks out.

Tomko vs. Rhino (8 Mile Street Fight). The War Machine makes his way out to the ring, then u-turns and heads backstage, then engages Tomko in combat to get the bout started. The action eventually spills back to the ring, and Tomko gains a brief advantage. Rhino rams Tomko through a table with a running spinebuster. Sets up for the gore, but Abyss comes running out and goes after Rhino to buy Tomko some time. The scheme backfires, however, as Abyss is sent out of the ring, and Tomko eats a gore anyway! Winner: Rhino. Post-match, the rest of Team Cage come down, as do Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe. The heels beat down the faces again, leaving them lying. After a break, Cage says it's time to party, but Abyss is to stay behind and essentially be a janitor because he cost Tomko the match. Naturally, the man-monster isn't digging that.

Voodoo Kin Mafia (w/Lance Hoyt) vs. Latin American Xchange (Homicide & Hernandez w/Konnan & Machete)(Non-title).
This, really, deserved more time. Christy Hemme was at the foot of the ramp to confront Kip & BG James, but Hoyt carried her off. BG was face in peril for much of the match. Kip got the hot tag and took over. They set up for a double-team fameasser when Machete tripped up Kip, then hit the ring himself along with Latino Nation, resulting in ref Earl Hebner calling for a DQ. Team 3D made the save, then cut a promo on LAX, accepting the challenge for an electrified cage title match at Lockdown. Winners: Voodoo Kin Mafia via DQ.

Kevin Nash is somewhere with Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt. Lethal now has a patch of blond hair, something Randy Savage never had. Dutt is trying on Nash's old Oz robe, which, of course, is way too big. Well, some ideas work, and some don't. James Storm, Robert Roode, Ms. Brooks, Jackie Moore, & Chris Sabin are all in Jim Cornette's office, demanding to know if they'll be at Lockdown. Cornette is calling a team meeting for later.

Senshi vs. "The" Austin Starr (Submission match). For the 2nd week, Mr. Bob Backlund is doing the Harvard Step test, and reading a rulebook as he goes. Now, that's a feat all by itself. Again, the match was too short, even with a commercial break. Taunted by Starr, Backlund approaches the ring with a towel. Starr applies a half-crab on Senshi, and Backlund throws in the towel to prevent any major injury. The irony, of course, is that the late Arnold Skaaland did the same for Backlund, costing him the WWF title in 1983. Winner: "The" Austin Starr. Post-match, Starr attacked Backlund, but fled when Backlund tried to apply the chicken wing. Senshi wasn't too thrilled with Backlund costing him the match and threw the towel back in the face of the 2-time former WWF champion.

Rhino & Samoa Joe have given Kurt Angle some static because of his secrecy regarding how he'll fill out his roster for Lethal Lockdown. That could prove costly come April 15, in my opinion, and Kurt also blows off Jeremy Borash when he presses for information after a break.

Jim Cornette runs down the Lockdown card:

X Division title--5 man Xscape match: Chris Sabin defends vs. Shark Boy, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, & Alex Shelley.
NWA World tag titles, electrified cage: LAX vs. Team 3D.
Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore
Robert Roode vs. Petey Williams
Jerry Lynn vs. Christopher Daniels
Blindfold match: Chris Harris vs. James Storm
Lethal Lockdown: Team Cage (Christian Cage, Abyss, Scott Steiner, AJ Styles, & Tomko w/James Mitchell) vs. Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Rhino, and ??????)
Senshi vs. "The" Austin Starr, Mr. Bob Backlund special referee

Cage isn't digging and his team enters the ring. Another fight breaks out, but this time Sting appears and helps Team Angle clear the ring. Earlier, Sting had told Mike Tenay he'd felt he'd failed in his mission with Abyss. Seems to have had a change of heart all of a sudden. Now at 4 members, Team Angle stands tall to end the show. Cornette said that whomever wins the fall in the Lethal Lockdown match gets Cage at Sacrifice in May.
