We open with Abyss walking backstage, followed by a highlight reel from Slammiversary. The show proper starts with Jim Cornette, who has all of TNA's champions---Kurt Angle, Jay Lethal, & Team 3D, come down to the ring. Cornette announces the main event for Victory Road next month. A Match of Champions, in which all of the titles will be on the line. Kind of like ECW's Ultimate Jeopardy matches back in the day. As of this point, it would be Lethal & Angle vs. Team 3D, but Lethal will defend his newly won X title vs. two former champions, Samoa Joe & Chris Sabin, in tonight's main event.

Angle cuts a heel promo and reads a prepared statement thanking himself for everything. Cornette reamed him out big time, but he should also be reaming out the writers, specifically Dutch Mantel, for having Kurt flip-flop between face & heel so much since arriving on the scene almost a year ago.

Lethal is interviewed by Jeremy Borash while "Guru" Sonjay Dutt is meditating. Meh. Borash's shilling for the TNA Mobile service brings flashbacks to Mean Gene Okerlund in WCW.

Robert Roode (w/Ms. Brooks) & James Storm (w/Jackie Moore) vs. Eric Young & Rhino. Eric still gets jumpy when his pyro goes off. Funny. The match? Not so much. Virtual squash as the heels dominated. Rhino took the hot tag from Young and cleaned house. He set up for the gore, but Moore got in the ring and jumped on his back. Ref was busy trying to separate Roode & Young. Rhino merely shrugged his shoulders to knock Moore off, but walked right into a superkick from Storm. Winners: Robert Roode & James Storm. Post-match, Storm poured some beer on Rhino's head and the war machine went berserk. Considering that Cornette ordered a restart to the Roode-Young match at Slammiversary, why not have him come back out, or send a 2nd ref out, to overturn this decision? Seems Storm never loses on TV. Inquiring minds want to know why.

A fan has a sign in memory of Sherri Martel. Unfortunately, Mike Tenay & Don West never acknowledge, and instead pull up a videotaped interview with Jeff Jarrett shown at Slammiversary, where his wife Jill's passing was acknowledged. Standing ovation from the fans at the Impact Zone. I'm sure they'd give Sherri the same treatment.

Raven (w/Havok & Martyr) vs. Chris Harris. Serotonin is not together as a full unit, as Kaz is nowhere to be seen at the moment. Raven looks like he's rediscovered his offense, with two Russian legsweeps on the barrier. Interference from his followers finally brings Kaz out, and while the ref is busy trying to get Martyr off the apron, Kaz uses Havok as a springboard and wipes out Raven, setting up Harris to hit the catatonic while Havok & Martyr chase Kaz to the back. Winner: Chris Harris.

Jay Lethal vs. Chris Sabin vs. Samoa Joe (X division title). Easily the match of the night, but of course is interrupted in mid-stream by a commercial break. Individually, Sabin & Lethal have fallen to defeat against Joe in the past, but could they work together to eliminate the big man? Only briefly. This deserved more time. Lethal & Sabin hit a double dropkick, then went after each other. Lethal was treated like a jobber, as he really didn't get enough offense in. Went for the elbow, but Sabin pushed him to the floor. Sabin goes up, but Joe catches him and hits a spinning muscle buster to win the X title for the 3rd time. Winner & new Champion: Samoa Joe. Ironically, Joe's last X run ended in similar fashion, as he was on the outside looking in when Senshi won the title last summer while Joe was starting a program with Scott Steiner and was not involved in the decision. Cornette came back out and announced that Joe had qualified for the Match of Champions, and that next week Angle will defend the TNA World title vs. Rhino & Cage.
