The live program begins with WWE champ John Cena, who admitted
that he got whipped last night, but is still the champ, ending
Umaga's winning streak. He wants to give Umaga another shot,
but Jon Coachman has other ideas. Coachman has signed Great
Khali away from ECW and is giving Khali a match vs. Cena later.
Jeff Hardy v. Kenny Dykstra.[Intercontinental Championship
Match] By default, the best match on the show. Dykstra
had an easier time in the ring last night at New Year's Revolution
vs. Ric Flair, as opposed to Hardy going through a cage match
vs. Johnny Nitro. Nitro got involved near the end, as he tripped
Hardy. However, Flair showed up on the opposite side and gave
Dykstra a low blow, a receipt for last night. Hardy hit the
Twist of Fate, then the Swanton, to seal the match. Winner:
Jeff Hardy.
"Rosie O'Donnell" is Vince McMahon's guest, and
is being treated to some ice cream cake from Carvel. In St.
Louis? "Rosie" then meets Maria & Candice Michelle.
Maria & Mickie James vs. Victoria & Melina.
Short and sloppy. Mickie started, but after tagging out to
Maria, never got back into the match legally. Maria tried,
and looked like she'd made some improvements. Unfortunately,
she's still green, and it showed. Melina debuted a new finisher,
a running bulldog off the turnbuckles she's christened, the
Extreme Makeover, and put away Maria.Winners: Victoria &
Melina.
"Donald Trump" vs. "Rosie O'Donnell".
Vince made the intros, which was actually the best
part of this farce. The best thing I can say is that at least
these two know their way around a ring. "Donald"
used the cake against "Rosie", then hit a diving
headbutt, a la Chris Benoit, to pick up the win. "Rosie"
was crying after the match, but the real Rosie may have something
to say about this in the morning.Winner: "Donald Trump".
Carlito vs. Chris Masters .Return from New
Year's Revolution. JR stressed that Masters has suddenly become
infatuated with Torrie Wilson, who's been linked to Carlito
of late. Halfway through the match, Torrie came down, and
played a pivotal part. She had Masters' attention, then used
the ring bell, smacking the Masterpiece on the leg. Carlito
then hit the backcracker for the win.Winner: Carlito.
Rated RKO is having a "victory celebration". The
only "victory" they can claim is that they're still
the tag team champs, and acknowledge HHH's injury, which was
mentioned earlier. They take credit for eliminating the Cerebral
Assassin, and intend to finish the job in a handicap match
vs. Shawn Michaels next week. HBK comes out and says he'll
be in Birmingham for the surgery tomorrow, and will accept
the challenge for next week.
Cryme Tyme vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch.
Short, Heat-level match. Cade & Murdoch were introduced
as if they were jobbers, which pretty much gave away the result.
JTG uncovered the turnbuckle padding in his own corner, which
came into play against Murdoch, leading to a schoolboy rollup
by JTG. Winners: Cryme Tyme.
"Rosie" meets Ron Simmons. 'Nuff said. Eugene, acting
as a face, is chatting with Todd Grisham, when Great Khali
approaches. Grisham interviewed Khali earlier, and wished
he hadn't, since Khali doesn't speak English too well. Eugene
sized up Khali, then walked away.
John Cena vs. Great Khali. Armando Alejandro Estrada was at
ringside doing commentary. Cena wanted to go after him, but
Estrada reminded him that he had Khali to deal with. Moments
later, Estrada left the desk and grabbed a chair. Cena intercepted
and used the chair on Khali to no effect. Khali hit the chokebomb,
then left. Estrada summoned Umaga, who supposedly had the
night off, and the Samoan Bulldozer wiped out Cena with a
butt-splash and the Samoan Spike.Winner: Great Khali via DQ.
