More On How WWE Can Automatically Renew Rey Mysterio's Contract Again

It's been previously reported that the WWE automatically renewed Rey Mysterio's deal for one more year due to a clause that allows them to renew deals if a talent has missed a certain amount of time due to injuries. This came after Rey was reportedly given the impression that the two sides would be parting ways.

No one knows yet how things will play out between Rey and WWE or if it will end up in court. Since Rey is still injured and has not returned to the ring to fulfill that year as an active competitor yet, there is the possibility that WWE could automatically renew him for another year when the current deal expires next summer.
