Why Michael Sam Won't Be On WWE RAW Next Week, WWE Removes References

Michael Sam, the first openly gay NFL draftee, may not be appearing on next week's WWE RAW, even if he wanted to accept the invite, as he's expected to sign with the Dallas Cowboys this week. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Sam is headed to Dallas for a physical on Wednesday and if all goes well, he'll be a member of the Cowboy's practice squad.

Sam has not responded to WWE's invite yet.

WWE has removed all references about their invite to Michael Sam from their website and YouTube channel. The WWE.com article about Sam as well as Stephanie McMahon's open letter to Sam now redirect to the RAW home page.
