The MMA Viewpoint - The Pro Wrestling Viewpoint: "Five Things To Change About The WWE"

I've been a pro wrestling fan for over 15 years, and grew up during the "WWE Attitude Era". Unfortunately, the WWE isn't what it use to be. I understand things change, but the (to be kind) "crap" that the WWE puts out on a weekly basics on Monday Night Raw is simply mind blowing to me. Don't get me wrong--every now and then they will put on a good show, but last week was really the first time in years that I didn't watch a full Monday Night Raw by choice. I watched the first segment, and after that I decided to not watch Raw because I could tell it was going to be another boring show. Boy, I was right! From what I gathered from other fans, I didn't miss much. I did manage to see the ending of the John Cena & Randy Orton match. My response? Meh, I saw that match 1,000 times before.

As a needed release of my frustrations with the powers that be in the WWE, I've come up with five things to change about the good ol' WWE. I'll start from number five and work my way to my number one change.

Number 5:
Change the WWE Divas' Championship back to being called the WWE Women's Championship. The WWE Women's Championship has a tremendous history. The late great Mae Young was the greatest women's wrestler ever. Other great women wrestlers include: Fabulous Moolah, Wendi Richter, Lita and Trish Stratus. They all wrestled under the Women's Championship banner. If it was good enough for them, it is good enough for the present day female wrestlers.

The Divas' Championship has no meaning. It's just a meaningless championship that's barely defended at all. A.J. Lee, who is the current WWE Diva's Champion, is a good wrestler but her title simply has no meaning. Now, if she were the WWE Women's Champion, her title would have some history and meaning behind it, and perhaps the fans would care more about it. The majority of the WWE Universe doesn't care about the Diva's Championship at least not enough to make it something memorable or important to the average fan.

Change the name of the WWE United States Championship to the WWE Television/TV Champion. The U.S Championship, just like the Diva's Championship has no meaning to the average fan. In fact, it has no history. It formerly was a WCW championship belt. It's time either to get rid of it completely or--as I suggested--change it to the WWE TV Championship. Having a WWE TV championship would mean that it would after be defended every week on TV weather it's on Raw, Main-Event or Smackdown. And that would be worth watching but somehow the WWE would ruin that championship too just like they have with the Intercontinental Championship.

Number 3:
Monday Night Raw should go back to being two hours, not three hours. If the WWE really wanted three hours then I would make the 8-9pm hour a replay of the NXT from the previous week. That way, the WWE could attract more viewers who don't have the WWE Network to watch NXT. Maybe those casual fans would decide to buy the Network. Also, the veteran WWE fans would get to see the young and up coming superstars of tomorrow.

A simple change here: either have one World Heavyweight Championship title belt or go back to having two World Champions. Why in the heck is Randy Orton still carrying two belts? I thought Triple H said (during the Raw before last years' (2013) TLC) that this would be the last time fans would see both championship belts in the ring at the same time. I had hoped that meant there would be only one championship belt. It's been almost two months since that historic match between Randy Orton and John Cena and there's still two title belts out there! I would hope after this years Wrestlemaina that they would only have one belt. There's no need for two championship belts to be carried around, unless this is a shot term thing and they decide to go back to having two World Champions later this year. WWE powers need to make up their minds already--either one belt or go back to having two world champions. Which will it be? Why make it so hard, WWE?

Daniel Bryan must hold the World Heavyweight Championship belt for more than six months this year. I would think that more than 90% of WWE Universe would agree. I would even go as far as letting him hold it for a year; he needs to come close to holding the title as long as CM Punk did. If I were in control. I would have him win it at this years' Wrestlemania and have him hold it until at least November at the Survivor Series--if not next year's Royal Rumble.

And that's what's Best for Business. #YESYESYES #YESMOVEMENT #DanielBryan

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my input to righting the wrongs of the WWE. Please leave comments of your top five things you would change about the WWE.
