Reaction Zone - The chicken farmers have gone loco

Jay & Mark Briscoe have been heels at various times, either separately or together, in the course of Ring of Honor's history. Their heel turn at the end of 2017, ultimately sending Bully Ray into retirement (we think), was shocking, but done well. It was Jay, the more volatile one, who turned first, and cost Ray & the Briscoes the ROH 6-man tag titles. Then, out of nowhere, Mark turned. He went from being the goofier half of the team to being outright nutzo. Their version of the 3D was weak, but that was because, at the time, Mark had a legit arm injury, and tried to work with it, when common sense suggested he wait and let the limb heal.

So Bully Ray did the honors at Final Battle. That was expected, the final payoff to the storyline. Next thing ya know, the Dudleys (aka Team 3D) are going to the WWE Hall of Fame, joining Sting and Kurt Angle as the only ones in both the Impact & WWE Halls. We'll talk more about that when we get close to the induction ceremony at the end of March.

As for the Briscoes, they're now targeting the Motor City Machine Guns for the ROH tag titles, claiming that the belts, which they haven't held in a few years are "their property". This is what happens when teams like reDRagon & War Machine come along, win the titles, then disappear after a while, jumping to WWE. There's also the Bullet Club's lingering presence, falling somewhere in tweenerville depending on the opponent. The Briscoes' heel run is a desperate plea to remind fans of what they've meant to ROH since it was founded in 2002.

"Sandy Fork vs. Everybody" is a rip-off of Irish Airborne's OvE gimmick in Impact, which now includes Sami Callihan (aka Jeremiah Crane from Lucha Underground), and all he did was turn the Crist brothers heel, flipping the script on their feud with LAX 3.0. Watch. The Briscoes will turn back babyface before 2018 is out. That's how it happens nowadays. Would WWE want them? Questionable. Mandy Rose has co-opted the Jay Driller as her finisher. Whether that's a sign of things to come is open to interpretation.

Then again, "Reach For The Sky" is usually what an outlaw says when he's in the act of committing a robbery. Hmmmm.
