WrestlingTimesX - Will The Shield Evolve or Perish?

Since Evolution reformed, the question on everyone's mind was, Where's Ric Flair? The founder of Evolution was nowhere to be heard from or seen, almost as if he were erased from the "revised" history of the Evolution storybook. But then, in the midst of RAW's main event match between The Shield's Roman Reigns and Evolution's "Apex Predator" Randy Orton, Ric Flair surprised both factions.

"I'm surrounded by Superstars that exemplify power, style, and grace." As much as this sounds like he was glorifying Evolution, Ric Flair was actually endorsing The Shield. Had Ric Flair had that much to drink that he forgot who he was endorsing? Or was the 16-time World Champion, 2-time Hall of Famer, actually being genuine?

Some believe that Ric will live up to his moniker as the dirtiest player in the game and find a way to double cross The Shield, but it's not like The Hounds of Justice accepted Flair into the fold as their mentor. They simply accepted the praise coming from one of the greatest in the business.

So come Sunday at Extreme Rules, Triple H has pressed one question very fervently, and that was whether The Shield will evolve or perish?

With 31 World championships combined--excluding Flair--it's easy to believe in Evolution's chances of demolishing The Shield at Extreme Rules. They were the most dominant faction circa. 2003-2005, but The Shield have been dominant ever since their debut back at Survivor Series 2012.

So it is hard to fathom a scenario where either team loses, but when it come to working as a team, The Shield have gone through their ego trips and still managed to stay strong. As for Evolution, the first sign of greed caused the whole team to disband for almost ten years.

It took a great deal of convincing on Triple H's part to rally the band back together, especially with all three men still stinging from the loss inflicted by Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania. So can Triple H keep Batista and Randy Orton's objectives concurrent to his own?

The Shield's objectives are simple: they fight injustice and they answer to no one but themselves. Triple H brought this upon himself when he indirectly stated that The Shield were interchangeable faces whom he couldn't bother remembering their names. It's very clear who each member of The Shield are: Roman Reigns is considered a future main event player; Seth Rollins is a gifted high flyer and in ring technician; and Dean Ambrose is known as the Lunatic Fringe with his bizarre promos and unorthodox style.

It was at Extreme Rules last year when The Shield took home championship gold, and Dean Ambrose still has possession of the United States title. So when it comes to coherency as a team, or shining as individuals, The Shield doesn't need to evolve, they are already heralded by fans and pros alike as the future of the business. Believe that.

Answer the Question: Will The Shield evolve or perish at Extreme Rules?
