Detailed Results
Let's skip past the video package setting up the show and jump to the backstage area, where Dario Cueto confronts Vampiro before the show, warning Vamp against making a stand against Matanza......! Meanwhile, Captain Vasquez is getting an update on Dario from Officers Reyes (Cortez Castro) & Meehan (Joey Ryan, using his real name for his cop persona). Meehan reveals that he & the Crew are entered in the trios tournament.....

1. Kobra Moon vs. Ivelisse.

Ivey doesn't have her partners with her as she goes it alone against Kobra. Decent opener that deserved more time. I guess because of Catrina's gimmick, she can't wrestle, which is a waste of her skills, otherwise we could see her and Ivey throw down. Kobra's not so bad, but Ivey, a former Shine champion (something Matt Striker hasn't mentioned--yet), opens up the offense, and gives future challengers to the trios titles something to think about, handing Kobra her first loss after a running flip powerbomb.

Winner: Ivelisse.

Someone's painted a question mark on the Lucha Underground billboard. I guess we're paying tribute to Batman this week. Famous B tries his sales pitch on Mascarita Sagrada, who isn't interested. Mack is trying to get Sexy Star to be in his corner for his match. Problem is, Dario paired him with Marty Martinez & Mariposa for the trios tournament, and Sexy wants no part of that scene........

Killshot interview & vidpack. Has a military background, which I think is legit, modified for the gimmick.

2. Trios tournament, 1st round: Mack, Mariposa, & Marty Martinez vs. Joey Ryan & the Crew.

Considering that "co-executive producers" Chris DeJoseph & Chavo Guerrero, Jr. are WWE alumni, I'd guess they might've had a hand in the dysfunctional tag team gimmick permeating the tournament again. It worked last year, but here you have two mismatched teams. Ryan's selfish gimmick doesn't fit with the Crew, who are gradually turning into crowd favorites. The act is working too well, it seems.

As it is, the Crew does most of the work, as Ryan was getting slapped around by Mariposa & Mack. They should put Martinez & Ryan as a tag team--The Smug Jackasses. As it is, Martinez eats the Psycho Realm, known in NXT as the Shatter Machine, but Ryan swoops in and picks up the pin.

Winners: Joey Ryan & the Crew.

Rey Mysterio, wearing a Batman-style cowl & costume, has answered Dragon Azteca, Jr.'s call, but so has Prince Puma. Wait! PUMA SPEAKS! There's a first, but it's not inside the temple, so Vamp & Matt aren't freaking out yet. These three are in the tournament.....

3. Lucha Underground title: Matanza Cueto vs. Fenix.

Personally, I don't think Matanza will really be tested until he's in with guys in his size range, like Mack, Cage, and Mil Muertes. For now, smaller opponents like Fenix will be fodder for the monster. Vamp has no comment on reports that Pentagon, Jr. has a "fractured vertebrae" after what happened last week. Again, the champ no sells offense, and after failing the first time with the rewind powerslam known as the Wrath of the Gods, he hits it to thwart a Fenix rally and retain.

Winner: Matanza Cueto.

The attack continues after the match. Dario threatens to fire ref Marty Elias. How unoriginal. Catrina comes out, calling for Matanza to stop. Mil comes down the other side, and chases Matanza out to end the show.
