1. Ring of Honor tag titles: Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin.
We pick up this match in progress. Lots of back & forth action, but not a lot of near falls scored by the challengers, who sought to wear down the champions as much as possible. The pace quickened near the end of the match, however. Haas applied the Haas of Pain, but Jay made the ropes and forced a break. Shelton & Mark went at it on the floor, but Jay used a headscissors into a cradle to retain. Winners: Jay & Mark Briscoe.
Haas & Benjamin laid out the champs after the match, with Mark laid out on the floor. Jay ate Paydirt, and was crotched three times on the post. The two teams will meet again in 3 weeks at Border Wars in Toronto.
2. TJ Perkins vs. Fire Ant.
Cross promotional match between ROH & Chikara, also joined in progress. Not all that familiar with Fire Ant or the Chikara promotion, but maybe if we get more of these crossover matches, this might lead to something even bigger. Perkins hit what I thought was a gutbuster, but in truth he hit a kick from that position for 2. He then finished the Ant off with a 450 splash. Hopefully, WWE's Justin Gabriel was taking notes, as this is how it really works. Winner: TJ Perkins.
Inside ROH takes a look at the Kevin Steen-Davey Richards title match in Toronto, with money promos from both. Steen in particular talked about one previous title match in his native Canada, when Nigel McGuinness was the champ, and failing. Jimmy Jacobs apparently will be in his corner for the title bout. Lance Storm will return home to Canada for a rematch with Mike Bennett, whom he says has the potential to be great, but he's also got potential for disaster.......
3. Ring of Honor TV title: Jay Lethal vs. Roderick Strong (w/Truth Martini).
If that's a wig Martini's wearing, I'm embarassed for him, because he is seven shades of ugly. I've seen Svengooli look better than that. I digress. The story here is that Tomasso Ciampa stole the TV belt from Lethal a while back, and promised Lethal he'd return it if Lethal beat Strong. Yeah, right, and I've got a bridge to sell you. Very good match, and Martini did exactly nothing, which is good as well. Late in the match, after Lethal had hit the Lethal Combination and an elbow drop, he gets sent to the floor. Ciampa posts him, then throws him back in the ring. Strong with a backbreaker similar to the backstabber, and that is it. We have a new champion, thanks to a thief named Tomasso Ciampa. Winner: Roderick Strong.
Strong's 1st title defense is next week vs. Adam Cole, but ROH officials should take a look at this and add Lethal to the mix, or, do the right thing and reverse the decision and give the belt back to Lethal.
