TV Rating:
1. Non-title: Christian def. John Morrison.
2. Tamina, Rosa Mendes, & Alicia Fox def. Natalya, Kaitlyn, & AJ Lee when Fox pinned Lee.
3. Mark Henry def. Bobby Howard.
4. WWE tag titles: David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty def. the Usos when McGillicutty pinned Jey.
5. Non-title: Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Ezekiel Jackson when Rhodes pinned Jackson.
6. R-Truth def. Randy Orton-DQ.
We open with Triple H. He promises to address the WWE title situation on Monday, then reveals that he re-signed CM Punk late Monday. Christian comes out, which Hunter doesn't like at all. Things are definitely going in a different direction. Christian learns that he will defend the World title vs. Randy Orton in No Holds Barred match at Summerslam. Christian complains, but he shouldn't have to, since the match can work in his favor as much as it does the challenger. Also, Christian is in our first match.....
1. Non-title: Christian vs. John Morrison.
1st match back for Morrison coming off the DL, but he's selling the neck injury just the same. Hit the flash kick early for 2, but it went back & forth from there. Morrison hit the C4 for 2, but started selling the neck again. Misfired on Starship Pain, and after Christian hot-shotted the neck against the top rope, hit the Killswitch to end it. Winner: Christian.
HHH & Teddy Long are walking in the hall when another guest arrives---Zack Ryder, who has been hounding the new COO all week. Hunter decides to foist Ryder on Long as the GM's new assistant. Maybe someone should've reminded HHH that being the GM's assistant is usually a bad omen.......
Wade Barrett is out to complain about a few things, chiefly, the fact that Daniel Bryan won the Money in the Bank briefcase. Bryan is out, and after a back & forth debate, they engage in a brief scrum before Bryan makes Barrett tap to the LeBell Lock. Figure a match between these two is set for next week at the earliest.
2. Tamina, Rosa Mendes, & Alicia Fox vs. Natalya, Kaitlyn, & AJ Lee.
Michael Cole is ripping on AJ for no reason. It's brought up that she's got a crush on Hornswoggle. Booker T claims he taught Alicia the axe kick. Problem with that is, Alicia didn't start wrestling until after Booker left for TNA, and the kick looks smoother when she hits it, as she does with AJ. Winners: Tamina, Rosa Mendes, & Alicia Fox.
3. Mark Henry vs. Bobby Howard.
El squashola. Howard, a Puerto Rican wrestler, as you can tell from the PR flag on his armbands, got zero offense in. Henry hit a tree slam, two World's Strongest Slams, and a backbreaker. Winner: Mark Henry.
Henry went and got a chair after the match to break Howard's leg, as he did with Big Show & Kane last week, but Long came out and pleaded with him to stop. Sheamus came out and offered to fight Henry, then proceeded to low-bridge the Olympic Powerhouse out of the ring. No one wants to fight Henry because of what he did to the former champs, and Long noted a lawsuit has been threatened because of the sound tech who was abused last month. Zack Ryder basically made the match, and he's not done........
4. WWE tag titles: David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty vs. The Usos.
Footage was shown of the Usos earning the title shot on Superstars 2 weeks earlier, but this was clearly a case of the champs getting the win and their heat right back. Jey has McGillicutty primed for a Superfly splash, but Otunga throws Jimmy in, drawing ref Scott Armstrong's attention. Otunga then swings around and knocks Jey off the top. One McGillicutter later, it's over. Winners: David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty.
Profile on Justin Gabriel, who got a hero's welcome on the recent tour of South Africa.
5. Non-title: Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase.
This was the other match that Ryder made, already overstepping his boundaries. It looked like Jackson would end this early, putting Rhodes in the torture rack, but DiBiase broke that up. DiBiase got tossed around like a toy for his troubles, but it allowed Cody to regroup and hit Cross-Rhodes. An IC title match is likely. Winners: Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase.
Matt Striker interviews R-Truth. Earlier, Truth implied that he was returning to Smackdown, but I'm not sure, as Truth also said he'd be at Raw on Monday. Truth compared himself to a bunch of eagles preying on a snake (Randy Orton). Easy way to get a cheap pop in heel-friendly Philadelphia.
Raw Rebound: The muddled WWE title picture hasn't quite gotten clearer. Yet.
6. Randy Orton vs. R-Truth. Right before commercial, Christian came back out to watch. It was a typical Orton match up to that point. Ultimately the combatants got on the floor while Christian distracted the ref, which allowed Truth to use a water bottle on Orton. Back in the ring, Orton collected a receipt with a chair, costing him the match. Winner: R-Truth via DQ.
Post-match, Truth was the one who paid the price, with 2 RKO's on the announce table, giving Christian reason to worry heading into Summerslam.
